It's china made crap if it's labeled "ebay", but if I open another door to sell it and put it in a pretty box, then it's no longer crap.

Good stuff guys.

Crap parts are crap parts no matter the name or seller.

Just because two different parts are made in China it doesn't necessarily mean they are built to the exact specifications.

you buy a 30-40k car and put a $170 ebay IC on it. Why not just slap a electric supercharger and some neon lights on it...

How do you know I dont have that already?? :P

I bought the first one and thought I would hate it and see power loss but I did not I am very happy with it.

I pressure tested for leaks and there were none. It works like the intakes.
they all do the same some just makes few more hp. and some not as much.

I gained 10 to wheels with the tune. cant complain about that for $170. you pay $1000 for a nice one and you may see a bit more hp but youd be out of $800 also.

I replace my intercooler often due to rocks and tire goober from other cars on track so this makes sense for me

That is the difference right there. Yours are essentially "throw away" ICs because of how you use them. Gotta love throwing away an IC because of "tire goober".

did you gain 10whp from the IC or from the tune? I highly doubt you gained 10hp from the IC. The stock IC doesnt even have to be replaced until going bigger turbo. So going to a $170 (im assuming stock size as well) ebay IC, is either doing nothing, or a downgrade.

the ebay intercooler is bigger and thicker.

I gained 10 hp with new tune... you could say it could be the new tune but i used same tuner and it was on a hotter day so id say it was both tune and the better flow.

but I am pretty sure the ebay one cooled better since the stock one was beat to hell and the fins were all bent out of shape.

like I said earlier cooler is a cooler. it cools air and as much as I replace it it doesnt make sense to get the high dollar one.

guess you can compare it to generic cola and the real coke. same "cola" but with slight difference. in the end it quenches your thirst.

Not to start into this Off topic thread... but I also have an ebay intercooler. and It may be holding back my ponies now but I to saw a gain when i installed it. Admittedly its terrible quality and I'm pretty sure a 3yr old welded it. Numbers don't lie.

I was in the middle of tuning with ER when i installed it and was able to squeeze in more timing and cooler IAT's versus stock, On build one in my sig, which was speed density so I can honestly say the IAT dropped.

I was especially surprised. Not all parts are created equal and as beautiful as that first intercooler is up there. you aren't going to yield more power from it over the second or even my ebay ****cooler unless you have a mod list similar to what i have now. So do as you do, buy what you wanna buy, I'll take my 600awhp and my crap *** intercooler and see ya'll when you catch up.

things aren't cheap for no reason. yes sometimes others are over priced, but why have the best and treat it like the worst? thats only seen when kids go from hondas to evos.

I also run an ebay intercooler but instead of paying 170 i payed 300 because it uses a 3.5 garret core. Not all ebay items are crap
