Correct me if I'm wrong: The restrictor pill prevents the clutch to be released too fast when the driver drops the clutch. It is placed to prevent excessive wear on the clutch. The drawback is that the driver may not have precise control of the clutch because of it.

IMO, mitsu placed it to extend the life of the stock clutch. If you decide to remove it and you come in for warranty work regarding the tranny, they could have an excuse to say no.
