rattling... clearance. It's hitting my drive shaft and or subframe. I've tried literally everything so im just wondering if it's a defective exhaust.

Have you checked to make sure your testpipe and/or mid-pipe is installed correctly? If either is installed backwards (and it happens!) you can run into clearance issues.

yes sir! twice.. two different shops. I took measurements... the mxp test pipe is short. by about 1/2 inch. which pulls the exhaust forward a little bit. It's causing some major clearance issues i have pics to post shortly. Im in an email war with reps at mackin... they are now placing blame on AMS downpipe... which is just aweful!

Funny you mention that. I was reading a thread a while back that said the AMS dowpipe is a tiny bit shorter, and it would have clearance issues with certain exhausts.

Here's the thread: http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37360

AMS also responded in that thread. I guess fitment can't always be guaranteed when mixing different parts. One solution was to weld in a pipe extension to the exhaust.

Ok, so i ordered a new test pipe.. (AMS) everything is fine clearance issue is fixed. As it turned out the MXP test pipe has a angle that cause the clearance issue.

I have this exhaust on my car and love it! No fitment issues at all. So the earlier AMS downpipes had some sort of issues?

I don't think it was much of an issue. Just that putting different brand exhaust parts might throw one or the other out of whack just a tad...

actually MXP's tp was faulty... they refuse to admit it... but the pipe has a weird angle that caused the clearance issue. You wouldn't know it unless you run the full set up. I had the MXP tp and MXP exhuast. I documented everything i even have detail pics of the clearance issue.

Anywho i swapped out the testpipe for an AMS one. ( same length as MXP resonated tp) Just one huge difference. NO weird angle, and everything clears. It's perfect now. My favorite dual exhaust on the market for the price.
