leaking on the ayc side of the rear diff

hey i did my second oil change the other day on my 2011 evo x mr. i've got 5000 miles on it. i had it up on the lift so i looked thru the entire underside of the car and i found this..

i read somewhere on evom one of the mods saying that the lines are known to leak a little bit and to just tighten them with a wrench.
i also saw two holes with ball bearings in them that look to be relief valves or something.
is it normal or should i be worried?

Definitely not normal to be leaking from there. Take it to the dealer if you are still under warranty. If not, try tightening those fittings.

Tighten the two fittings if you want to do it yourself, otherwise have the dealership do it for you under warranty. This is somewhat common; my car did that too.

My 2011 was leaking AYC fluid too, so I took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole rear diff under warranty. Mitsubishi told the dealership just to replace diff and not to rebuild it. My car only had around 5k when it happened. I'm just happy it was covered by warranty or else that would of cost me like six grand.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to keep an eye on this to see if the issue progresses. So far I cleaned up the area (since it didn't look fresh, maybe from aseembly) and will keep a close eye on the rear diff.

i haven't taken it to the dealer. but its alot worst now. its coming from the right side seal. and the acd fluid is low so i assume thats whats leaking out and not the rear end fluid itself. its at the min mark.

Mine didn't have any signs that it was leaking ayc fluid because it would land on the muffler and burn off. Whenever I drove it hard it would lose ayc fluid. I would take it in before you burn out the pump.
