Synapse DV flange problem

So i have a 2012 EVO X and got a synapse DV valve, problem is the flange diameter is about an 1/8" smaller than the stock valve so when i connect the boost tubing to the valve with the stock valve it fits snugly around the tubing but with the synapse it fits in the tubing freely and can easily slide in and out with no friction. i do have a ETS intake with silicone tubing but i tried the oem tubing and same result, seems the synapse flanges are just machined at too small a diameter. problem is when i tighten the worm drive clamps it pinches the silicone or the stock rubber and it will leak. anyone else have this problem?

I had mine installed 2 days ago. I also noticed the 1.25" flange is a bit smaller than stock but that was the least of my problems. Synapse sent me a wrong 1" flange and I went ahead anyway and had it installed (while I wait for the correct 1.25" flange).

Although one of the flanges has a much smaller size, it seems that the DV is not leaking. I tightened the clamps well and they seem ok so far. Even the smaller 1" flange seems ok.

So go ahead and try it. Just tighten the DV well and I think you should be ok.

i called synapse and spoke with them, they are aware that the flange is smaller by 1.5 mm and said they may correct this in the future but for now hasn't had enough comments or complaints to warrant a new run of flanges. they suggested wrapping the flange with some sort of tape to increase the diameter a bit. i'll try and install it and see if it leaks.

so i went to home depot and purchased some silicone tape, used about 3 layers and it fits nice and snug. along with the clamps i don't think there's a leak, it's 104 today and i hit 21 psi and it held rock solid. i'll be getting tuned next friday and we'll boost leak test it again. went for a quick drive with pull and only port b, no preload, didn't notice any flutter at all, this is the first config i've tried and so far so good.
