New Evo x GSR BOV question

Hey guys so I have had my new GSR for about a month now. I want to start lightly modding. I was thinking of doing the exhaust first but I found out that a friend is selling his Agency power 3 in 1 BOV (red) for a really good price. Is it okay to start modding a stock car with a new BOV? Also does anyone have experince with this particular BOV?? I have also heard that you should just stick w/ the stock BOV and just add a short ram intake and that would make it sound better? I am new to the world of turbo cars so any advice would be helpful!

The AP BOV is a piece of crap. Also, there is no need for one on an otherwise stock car. Stick with the basics to start: intake + exhaust + tune/flash.

For an intake stick with something that retains the stock MAF housing and comes with a heatshield. It's also a bonus if that heatshield utilizes the stock snorkel. My favorites are probably the AFE and K&N intakes. ETS' and Cobb's are also decent options. There are plenty more though, just do your research and make sure you know exactly what you're buying.

Exhausts are a very personal thing. Single? Dual? Loud? Quiet? Budget? Let us know what aspects you're looking for and I'll point you in the right direction; as long as it's 3" they'll all make about the same power.

Ohh man Exhaust are a tough one lol. I want something thats dual, but I dont want something thats really that lound. I dont even know if I should get a catback, or a turboback or if I need a downpipe on top of all that as well lol I had headers on my old rsx and had to get motor mounts so it wouldnt snap. I hated it. When I was idleing the car would shake and it was so not fun! lol

Turboback is the way to go if you want to make decent power, a catback alone won't do much.

Quiet street-friendly dual catbacks:
-Magnaflow
-Cobb
-Buschur Crossflow
-ETS V2 Quiet

Yup, that's one that's proven to work well. Plus it comes with a matching UICP which is neat.

whats up guys. I also just bought a EVO GSR. Im thinking of putting ETS V2 quiet. But before that want to get intake. Im not looking to get power, its enough for me. Im trying to get a nice sound coming out of the engine. Researched a lot still cant figure out. Not sure to get AEM stock looking or ETS cold air or something else? I want to hear the stock BOV spooling. Some CAI and SRI give idle problems. What should I go with?

I like my Harmon motives (now aq motorsports) it is almost identical to ets and ams. It relocates the blow off valve to the front, which is much nicer. The sound is much more noticeable too. It uses the aem filter. Never had a problem.
If you want a reasonable exhaust get the ultimate racing turbo back with the o2 housing down pipe. Get it minimuffled as the reasonated version is still loud (I love it), been on my car for years and is awesome.

Make sure to get an extra bung welded on for afr sensor/gauge this way you don't have to reinstall later. You will want the afr gauge and boost gauge at some point. Check zeitronix zt-3.

Oh and you should tune after installing the intake, as you mayl run a bit leaner.

^this. It is also good to note that the stocker BOV holds its own very well.

Why do people keep calling it a BOV.... It is a DV a diverter valve, not a blow off valve.
