Cobb BOV lost its blowing sound

Hi guys

I installed Cobb XLE about a month ago, and the BOV was blowing even with relaxed driving.
After spending two days in Yosemite, I only get a low whistling when shifting instead of blowing. And it blow when I hit it hard on the peddle.

Did my BOV crashed/brake, and how to check it up?

your advice is appreciated.

Thanx

Remove it and make sure the piston isn't damaged and still moves smoothly.

Do you think this is caused by the altitude (almost 6,000 ft elevation)?

Should I be careful driving for couple of days in this environment?

I wouldn't beat on the car until you ensure everything is operating properly.

I checked it. The valve move if I push too hard. But it move normally.

I noticed while driving, it will only blow if the boost is over 5 psi. Less than that, it won't, and I can hear only the air flowing without a blow.

hope this is normal.

I have the same BPV. I'm normally at 6000ft, but when I went on vacation with the Evo to a near sea level location, I noticed the pressure releasing much more often at lower RPM and lower gears.

Thank you guys for your input. I'll be in SoCal Cobb next weekend. I'll let them check it, otherwise I'm switching to Synapse

No reason to switch, just find the problem and fix it, it's still under warranty so it won't cost you a penny. I've had mine for over 25k miles now and it's been fine. I recommend disassembling, cleaning, and relubricating annually as outlined in the user manual, but that only took me a grand total of 20 minutes including R&R.

Kracka, did it take a bunch of fine tuning to get this bov dialed in? I'm contemplating switching to this..

No, no fine tuning needed. Set the adjustment screw to full stiff (their recommended setting for the Evo) if it isn't already there. Install and drive; done.

Sounds like the spring or adjustment screw or something may have broken.

Remember 6000 Feet the air is really thin. So no air to push thru the BOV until pressure is built up lol. Sea level tons of air (IE more HP) so normally u will be able to hear it easy at sea level. FYI if your tuned for sea level be careful taking it to an extrem elevation change like that. Most times you do need a tune for a change like that if you plan on pushing the car hard.

I recently got the Cobb bpv and was wondering how to set it to "full stiff"? It was barely used but was sitting for a while so I plan to clean it, relubricate it and the set it to the factory setting.
