Problem after installing AMS gate selector bushing

I just got finished installing the bushing and after putting everything back together on the rocker arm, I ran into the issue of the 2 12mm bolts not lining up correctly with the threaded holes.

I've attempted to try either side first, hooking up the vertical bushing first, hooking up the vertical bushing last, reassembling the rocker arm, and readjusting the lock nut on the rocker arm. I don't feel like the gate bushing can be removed once it's set so I feel that that's out of the question. Not sure what I did wrong and I'm trying to get some suggestions/feedback. Have any of you guys ran into this issue?

wiggle the stick a little and see if that bracket will move.

I've tried that. The white piece that sits in between the shift link prevents it from moving any more.

Bolt it down before attaching the shifter cables.

I've tried that, but when the rocker arm is attached, the small white piece that moves the arm up and down is already seated and prevents the bracket from shifting.

I think you're doing something wrong here. Take it all apart and try again. If memory serves, there should be plenty of wiggle room when installing.

Yea, I'm planning to try it again after work. Is possible to install the bushing in the wrong direction? Even then, it doesn't look like it should cause THIS much of a install issue.

Yea, even double checked it against the TWM install instructions as well. This is why I'm so confused.

By the looks of things the brass bushing isn't pressed all the way in.

Got it! Thanks guys.

Scott, I'm not sure if that was it but I ended up disassembling everything and cleaning it down again and then re-greasing everything. Torqued the nut and resat the entire assembly -Somehow it worked.

Yah sometimes you just have to work it in a little bit. The brass bushing is somewhat self lubricating so after moving a bit it will smooth out.

Thanks Scott. So it should be tight at first and then smooth out over time with driving?
