I was under an overpass the other day and rev'd the car in neutral to get a friends attention . Except the car just hung at 5500rpms so i tried to blip the throttle again to see if that'd get it back to normal. Then it hung at 7k. Finally after like 4 seconds or more (it felt like forever) it fell back to normal. WTF?! Should I clean the throttle body or it is an electrical issue? Anyone seen this?

 

im experiencing the same thing, i just bought a ported stock TB and rebuild kit, well see how that works

 

I get that now and then. Usually I just let out the clutch just a hair and rpm go back to normal.
Another down side to using Fly by wire throttle system I guess?

 

No one has a fix? How common is this?

 

There isn't a fix for it unless you get a tune....the values on the throttle are changed. There was a big thread writeup on this not too long ago. I've had my tables modified and while its a lot better its still there...ever so slightly but still noticeable.

 

Isn't intentionally tuned in to avoid an overly rich condition?

 

That im not aware of.....could be a possibility.
