I had a significant clunck, but did the redline cocktail, Works Short throw and bushings. Made a huge difference.

I installed the torque solutions 75 durometer front motor mount and it definitely helped in curing my issue. there is a vibration now at idle but I was expecting it. I think it shifts easier now too but I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if its any better when cold. I'll also install the rear diff bushings and carrier bearings bushings tomorrow. overall im happy so far.

That "clunk" is from the play in the factory bushings for the driveshaft, motor mounts, rear diff, etc. It is completely normal for it to do that with a hard shift. It doesn't matter if you shift "smoother" etc. If you're racing the car it's going to happen. If you don't mind in cabin vibrations then replace every single bushing including the front and rear motor mounts, the driveshaft bushings, the rear diff side mount bushings and the rear diff bushing itself. Problem solved. The stock as transmission is stout and I don't care if you change fluids and the shifter bushings etc, it will still be notchy until it warms up period. The only fix I've ever heard of was by Jacks Transmissions in their rebuild.

while I agree with this ^ in my opinion or maybe just in my situation the movement was excessive. I understand that mitsu had to go with the option that provided strength while still being bearable as far as NVH is concerned. in my case the motor would rock excessively in stop and go traffic causing a jerky ride.

finished the bushings install and went for a drive. super happy with the change. I swear it shifts easier now too. I also just bumped up my idle to 950 to remove the worst of the NVH while stopped. overall very happy.
