MR sst "override" ???

I bought a mr recently with a transmission leak and it has gotten pretty bad. It's happened twice now, that when it starts to get to low the trans feels like the power is being cut back from the motor??? Is this a safety measure to keep the trans from breaking. Has anyone heard of anything like this before?

lets hope so. find the leak and fix it! You should probably start checking the level more often until, or better yet stop driving til you do. a new tranny will not be cheap.

If you keep driving with the leak you are going to destroy the transmission. Fix the leak or its going to get very expensive.

Low fluid and you'll destroy your trans. Get the leak fixed.

Factory sealed components like that typically dont leak, but you need to take it to a trans shop who can find wherever t is leaking, open it up, and if all looks good, seal it back.

Yea man. The trans cannot operate properly with low fluid level and leaks. It is probably also overheating.

The transmission has a thermal limit, can't remember the temp of the top of my head. When it goes higher, the car will start running in limp mode. I definitely agree with everyone in that you should not drive it. I would even have the car towed just in case.

Yeah it's not moving. Must have been this thermal limit you speak of! It cut power from the motor, if I pushed the gas it decelerated even more. I'm sending it to shep, he is going to check it out and put the internals into a good housing he has. Thanks for the help! Once this is fix, I got a fully loaded MR for 15k so I can't complain!
