Whining noise when cold and driving slow

I have this noise when driving very slow when the car is cold. Dealership thinks it is the front axle bearing. Anyone else have this issue with their X?

Yup I get the same thing too. Drives me up a wall. It goes away after a few minutes of driving when everything gets up to temp.

I also get a bit of clicking when turning a corner before it's warm, like maybe the front diff?

Having a bit of a warm spell here now, the dealership wants me to leave it there overnight when it gets below -15 so they can drive it directly on a hoist to see exactly where the noise is coming from before it warms up.

Noticed the same thing on my 12 GSR. (first winter season with the car)
I think it could be the powerstering pump getting warmed up. I hear it coming from up front and it goes away after about 1/4 mile of driving. It doesn't do it while idling, only when I start moving. Something is cold and lacking lubrication.

The clicking could be one of your axles popping. Make sure they aren't leaking and that water didn't get inside them.

As far as the whining I've never heard that before. Sounds like an episode of the twilight zone is happening.

Just got back from the dealership, took a couple pictures of what they say where the issue is. They have ordered the part. Will let you know if it fixes the issue.

That's interesting. The more I read and research, I'm thinking its my oil pump bearing squeeling when it's extremely cold. Also started hearing a whirring noise while driving here and there. Clutch in or out, still makes the sound so hope it's not the TC. Due for an oil change and having that done now to see if that helps.

So the dealer thinks its the steady bearing?

They took it directly inside after it being left outside over night, and apparently used a stethoscope to pinpoint where the noise was coming from.

I can report that after my oil change which was done right around 3k since the last one, the noises have subsided. Currently at 20,000 miles.

I have the fluids to replace the tranny fluid but waiting on a replacement heatshield for my intake before I dig into it.

I get a very similar noise (not as pronounced as the OP's), and have changed every fluid in my Evo within the last couple hundred miles. I still get the noise occasionally. I'm suspecting that it's my wheel bearing because the passenger/front has been humming. I'm going to replace it soon, so I'll post my results if it took care of my noise.
