Pros and Cons of Meth Inj

Like the title says just looking for some opinions and maybe some feedback from those that run Methanol Injection systems on your evo X. What type of failures and what type of gains is the answers I am looking for. Thanks in advance

Pros are reduced intake temps, essentially an increase in the octane of the fuel you are running, and resistance to detonation. Because of this you can run more aggressive timing and get more power than you normally would be able to on pump gas without knocking.

Cons are it is difficult to get equal meth distribution across the cylinders. Because of this I would only do a direct port setup on the evo, meaning you need a separate injector for each intake manifold runner, so it costs more.

I like the AEM kits. I've tried others and either had component failures or the systems were overly complex

Thank you I do have the AEM kit and am going to install. I am running a stage 3 Cavalli turbo, 1300 injectors, AEM fuel pump, and ETS intercooler, along with hard piping etc. I appreciate the feedback

I would pick up 3 of the additional injectors and run one per runner. I stock them.

Failsafes are important based on the fact you are tuning for a more aggressive octane. The ECU can adjust to some extent but failsafes allow the rest of the system to respond appropriately. There are many different versions and points in the system to add a failsafe. Some use one others use a combination of a few. It all depends on your level of comfort and the how the tune reacts to a lack of flow.
