So recently I bought a MAP performance open downpipe and once i was about to install it. I was told that the downpipe would be bad for my car cause I have the stock wastegate.

Mod list:
-GS EBC
-Cobb sf intake with cobb turbo inlet
-full exhaust with test pipe
-turbo smart bov
-Cobb v3

 

What does that have to do with anything? I mean sure stock wastegates are going to open early. Unless the downpipe doesn't fit with the map downpipe.

 

We call that a screamer pipe in Australia. Vents wastegate to atmosphere making a heck of a lot more noise.

Nothing wrong with it, if its a dd I probably wouldn't do it myself, but each to their own

Disregard what you're concern is. Put it on and have fun. It's only loud and wot and, since you own an evo, I assume you'll enjoy the sound.

I had the ets one, loved it and going to do it again on my 15'

 

I have the MAP open dump on my 11' and I daily it in the summer with no issues but without a doubt it is very loud. The one time it can get annoying is on the highway because its hard to accelerate without opening it.
