Open Dump O2 Question

So, I just got rid of my old O2 housing and put a MUSE open dump O2 on my car. At idle and under driving it blows exhaust out of the dump. Is this normal? I don't recall my Talon doing this several years ago when I had one.

Not normal...I am guessing you used a stock style non-divded gasket?

Yuuuppp... Had a brand new Mitsu gasket set and used that gasket instead. I'll rip it apart tonight and fix that. Would this cause any issues other than having an annoying exhaust leak?
Thanks!

Yup, you need to use a divided gasket. Had same issue with mine, ordered the MAP divided one, and never had any issues

Correct, it would just cause an annoying exhaust "leak". A divided gasket would fix that. If you do not have a divided gasket you can also use the copper gasket spray stuff from any auto parts store. Spray a nice thick coat on the flange, let it sit for a minute or so & while its still tacky, bolt the 02 to the turbo. I haven't used a gasket in a while, just use the copper gasket spray.

Also, I will add I have had a fee people pm me with other o2's with the same problem, if the flange is not perfectly flat it will cause this problem even with a gasket.
