380whp on 91 isn't bad at all on a mustang dyno.

Also, the air cycled out of the mivec gear when you started it, and drove it into the dyno.

went down today, we're taking the valve cover off and checking to see if there is silicone or something causing a decrease in pressure, if that doesn't work I'm gonna drive it around for a while & see if there is air in the cam gears & hopefully after a bunch miles the oil will fully recirculate.

- should have some sort of answer by 8pm.

& if not I'm gonna buy an IX.

So what timing are you talking about, cam timing or ignition timing?

The oil circulated by the time you turned the car on and moved it two feet.

is that 22/23psi flat across the band? that is quite conservative and if it's a low numbers dyno then 380 may not be that bad.

can you post logs to show what timing + mivec are doing? would help see what it is you are trying to work out.

i was referring to cam timing, i wasn't sure if just moving it around and firing it up would be enough to get everything circulating & any possible air out of the system of it i would need to actually drive it around for 30/50 miles.

- removing VC/cams now to see if there is just some debris or something impeding the oil flow somewhere since all the solenoids & sensors are receiving power & working properly.

i will take some pictures/ post logs once we get it back on the dyno / later this evening.

thanks all.

update, cleaned all the feed lines & solenoids out no obstructions to be seen, totally zoned about taking pictures of the logs

- so with the continuing issue someone suggested doing the magnus mivec delete? anyone have any input on this?

There is an issue, don't delete the mivec. Find the issue, rectify it.

I still don't fully understand what the problem is.

When you say its limiting cam advance, what is it limiting it to?

is the limit on both cams? Are you getting retard limit on the exhaust cam as well?

when i begin the pull/wot it just reads 0's for advance, it should be roughly what 3-8*? i am not getting a retard limit on the exhaust currently.
i just came across this

http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/arc...p/t-99874.html

so trying to trouble shoot in the morning to see if any of the previously stated issues from other forum members are the cause.

Are you sure you are logging the correct address? What address are you logging? target and actual.

Does the car spool like crap?

i mean i believe? tuner is the one actually logging everything so I'd hope he knows what he's doing. he's just showing me and breaking everything down for me since i have the tuning ability of an 8 year old with downs.

- car spools very well to be honest, takes a second for it to build but once under load it holds at 24/22 lbs through the pull

It would be horribly laggy if there was no cam advance.

Who is the tuner?

still no clue what the issue is, no clogs in the filter in the head, cams are definitely installed correctly.

- will changing the exhaust cam gear do anything? the exhaust cam was working fine when initial install was done as well as when we checked over the past week and a half.

I'm really really leaning to just delete mivec.

I would not delete the mivec. It's a huge advantage in getting the turbo to spool quicker, and then holding power better out the top.
