So i recently bought this 2010 evo 10 MR with 51k miles. I brought it in to the stealership to change all fluids and spark plugs. Coming from BMW im used to driving with little to no inside noise while driving. So while driving on the parking lot in 1st gear i notice this high pitched sound. It only happen while ikat 1st gear and low rpm/speed. Is this normal? Link below is the whine video and the 2nd video is driving on the freeway. Thanks alot guys!

Yes. 1st gear is straight cut so it's normal to have that noise.

 

Even for the MR? So nothing to worry about? Its not my tranny or my TC going out or shot?

 

update! trying to diagnose the noise my self. and so far this is what I have found. every time I hear the whine sound and I put it in neutral whine goes away. so does that mean its my tranny?since transfer case will always be engaged even if the car is in neutral.?
