So im about to pull the trigger and upgrade the stock turbo. im looking at the Garrett and want to know whats the difference between the GTX3076r and the GT3076? Looking at MAP website they have the GT3076r for about $2073 but the gt3071r for more $$? currently im at 389hp on e85 and would like to hit 450hp with the new turbo.

The difference between the gt and the gtx is the compressor wheels. the GTX wheels have better aerodynamics for improved efficency. Just so you know you don't need a turbo that big to make 450whp on E85....

 

Get GTX. Much better compressor wheel.

 

IMO you should just buy a stock frame turbo if you are only looking for 450whp on E85.

 

The GTX3076R is a stock frame turbo

I've been searching and I've haven't seen any turbo beside gtx3076r make 450hp on e85. I've seen a MHI making 410-420. Figure I'll go 3076r just in cast I want to go 500hp when I support the motor.

 

Ignore all my comments, thought I was on Evo 1-9. X is a different beast. Good luck with whatever turbo you choose, hope you reach your goals.
