Tuner asked me to connect the AEM wideband signal to the rear o2 sensor wire so we can log it. My understanding from research is that there is a white wire out of my AEM gauge that needs to be connected to the yellow wire just below the passenger seat. I can see my logs have AEM WB already, but its reading from the narrow band sensor. Never did this before so i will start working on it tomorrow when i have free time.

Any pointers to make it easier is welcome by me.

I also orderd ETS intake with 3" coupler to connect properly to 18K Turbo. Mechanic and Tuner both recommended changing the stock air box to remove restriction and help Turbo spool up faster.

Your sig says you have an ETS Intake?!?!

Missed the last post where you said you ordered an ETS Intake. You'll be very pleased with it. I just finished up a 18k and MAP manifold install on my X over the weekend. Very excited to get it tuned. Hope your tuner gets you some solid results

Update:

Connected the rear 02 sensor wire to the AEM Wideband signal so my tuner can properly tune it. So far so good, we made progress with street manners so far. We started making low map pump gas only runs and on the last few runs the car feels very fast especially above 5500 RPM compared to my stock Turbo.

Observations so far,
1. 18k is laggier than what i have seen on the forum being 300RPM later spool up than stock. I looked at logs and where the stock turbo was hitting 20PSI at 3500RPM, the 18k is doing that at 4300RPM. So that is more like 800RPM laggier than stock Turbo while keeping everything else the same.
2. Stock Turbo will loose steam and go below 20psi at 6800RPM while 18k is holding steady at 24psi at the same RPM.
3. By 7800RPM stock Turbo is down to 17psi while 18k is holding at 24psi.
4. Snowperformance stage 2 Meth used to drop 5c degrees drop in Manifold temps below IAT with stock Turbo, but with the 18k the best Meth could do was a 9 degrees temps above IAT. Manifold temps was still lower than non Meth runs by 7c degrees. I guess nozzle size upgrade is a must and maybe higher water mixture to bring that Manifold temps to below IAT temps. Im currently using the smallest size in the kit, i think its 3xx. Im going to swap in the largest size and see what happens.

It will be interesting to see how the ETS intake will help spool up once it arrives next week.

Turbo will spool faster as WGDC is increased to raise boost. Also, MIVEC mapping greatly effects spool. If your tuner can't get it how you think it should, you can always try a different tuner.

Also, the intake should help spool immensely. I'm not even sure why your tuner is doing any tuning with stock intake. He's going to have to redo MAF scaling and other parts of the when you put the ETS on.

And you need to run a bigger meth nozzle. You're getting a lot more air in their, so you need more meth to cool down the extra air.

This is more of street tuning, the full power tuning are still to come. Most likely will do more power tuning when ETS is installed. I will put on a dyno after all said and done.

I changed the meth nozzle from 225ml to 675ml and i just did a quick run and its working much better than yesterday. Very short run and the manfold temps were 5 degrees below IAT. Im sure if i stay on it until 4th gear i will see larger drop in manifold temps.

Once people go to bed i will do clean runs on the road to see the results.

Changing the intake kind off effects the whole tune. It's going to require MAF scaling changes, which change just about everything to do with fueling. That's why I'm surprised the tuner is bothering to tune it very much when you're expecting a new intake.

Update:

I changed the mixture from 80/20 meth to 50/50 meth water and now its working properly. AFR went down to 10.2 and manifold temps went at least 12 degrees below IAT which was great and 20 degrees below non meth runs at the manifold.

Im running 26psi on low boost setting on 91 pump gas.

Im seeing 30psi on high boost setting with 91 pump gas and Meth injection on at 16psi with full spray at 24psi.

So far no knock but we have the timing pretty low. What timing and boost targets are you guys running on 91 octane?

When are you guys seeing 20psi with the 18k? At what RPM?

18k should hit 20psi at 3600 or below in 3rd gear. If yours is spooling at 4300 the tune needs to be better or check the wastegate actuator.

Here is a log. 20 psi at 3400 RPM (26.5psi target), 3rd gear. 26psi at 3800 rpm.

I also highlighted mivec and wgdc. (both help in spool)

Do you know how much timing he is running at peak boost on 91 octane?

Also peak Torque is very high which seems inline with what im feeling.

Im putting the car on the dyno after i install ETS intake and retune.

2* @ 3800 RPM / 23 psi
11* @ 7400 RPM / 22.5 psi
