CMC Failure(I Think)

Quick question about my CMC. Last month my clutch went straight to the floor so I pulled it up and went on my way. I assumed it was probably the slave cylinder because I hadnt lost any fluid, nor was there any evidence of a leak. Replaced the slave, and it was all good.

Fast forward to last week, peddle to the floor again, and now it happens very frequently. Also Im now losing fluid at an alarming rate. Worst part is I cant trace the leak, I can only see the drops on the ground, so this time Im assuming its the CMC and its leaking internally and just going where I cant see the origin.

CMC is dry, as are all of the lines, slave, and calipers. CMC recall was performed back in 2013. Clutch is stock.

About to pull the trigger on a new CMC assembly, am I on the right path?

If you aren't seeing any fluid where the brake booster is, check at the clutch pedal assembly. It may be leaking on the inside of the firewall.

hmm thats strange, it has to be leaking from somewhere. I'd slide under the car if you can and see if you can see brake fluid anywhere. If it puddles on your lower assembly it'll eat the paint so thats a nice way to see where the leak is coming from.

I don't think there have been any cases of the revised CMC failing, but then again its pretty much the same thing with a reinforcement ring around it. If you find that it is leaking, I would get the aftermarket CMC assembly with an Evo IX cylinder.

Yup, pooling at a few points under there. Im just going to go ahead and get the aftermarket CMC and go from there.

Just a word of advice, some of the kits allow you to choose an "Aftermarket CMC" or "OEM Evo IX CMC". Go with the OEM Evo IX one unless you wanna be like me and go through 2 of the cheaper aftermarket ones in the span of a month.

I warn people about this all the time. Go with OEM or risk doing the job more than once. Not fun or worth it just to save a few bucks initially.
