As the title states I am having an issue with my 2008 Evo X. It will lose all power and pop during acceleration when I hit 4k rpms and around 10 psi boost. The issue just started happening last night after the car sat idling for about 30 mins. I have been on the same map for 2 months and no issues until now. The car drives like normal until I start to get above 4k rpms and 10psi. If I wot from above 5k rpms it pulls fine. The car does seem to run rich but it has always ran that way. I have stage 3 bolts ons and running stage 3 cobb map.

I have a friend with an evo x as well as I used his car to swap the following with no change in the issue:

Things I have tried.
- boost leak test
- swapped fpr
- swapped plugs
- swapped map
- swapped maf
- swapped bcs
- checked rear o2
- fuel pump relay replaced
- tps sensor swapped

I am kind of lost as to what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Boy that sounds like a timing problem but you should be seeing a giant exclamation mark in your center area if it was a timing problem. You definitely hit all the usual suspects before that. Also, what's your oil pressure look like (I'm wondering about high temp mivec settings).
