Clutch Issue - has anybody seen this before?
I wanted to bring this back up from the dead as an update 5 years later
the ACT 6 puck & CC pressure plate finally failed. 5 years of hard driving, over 150 launches, and roughly 35k miles and it’s finally started to slip and not hold 6000-6500rpm launches anymore. My car is making roughly 550ish on a stock block and gets drag raced, street fun and no-prep all season long so it’s been abused to hell. I’m shocked it lasted as long as it did. It’s still holding all the power in high gear high load situations like rolls, but it can’t hold a launch and first gear takeoffs from a stop are extremely rough and chattery so it’s safe to say it’s done for.
if anybody ever has this combo, and is debating on going with it, it’s a fantastic clutch combo
I bit the bullet on the new ACT MOD twin, that’s going in the car this winter in preparation for next race season
