Clutch Pedal sticks and don't know why please help

Hey everyone,
I have a 2012 and recently as of a year and some change ago changed out my clutch Comp Clutch stg 4 6 puck and the CMC to the MAP CMC. Everything was fine until about 4 months ago I'm backing the car up and the clutch pedal sticks about 2 inches off the ground. It still goes into gear but the release point is now almost instant. I slipped my foot under it and pulled up and it instantly went back into its original position and regained it's normal spring tension. It seems to only happen if I hold the clutch in while still in gear for a short period of time like at a stop light or backing out of my driveway where I have to hold the clutch and pedal it bc I have a slanted driveway. Today I had someone test drive it and I'm guessing he held it down for a long time but it goes all the way to the floor and won't come back up. Once I got there I flipped the pedal back up and it went back to normal. Has anyone else had these issues after installing the new CMC? Could I have not bleed it incorrectly now there is air? I'm at a loss right now and could really use everyone's help.

Thank you

Sounds like the master cylinder is bad. That would be guess, since it works normal when you bring the pedal back up. The clutch works like normal, so it's not that nor the slave cylinder. Just my guess, judging by info given.

That’s what I’ve been thinking as well but just wanted to get opinions first before I buy another one. Do they have a tendency of failing, the MAP ones?

thanks again

Also does anyone know what would be going wrong with the CMC if it's not leaking fluid which I don't think it is bc the MC reservoir isn't getting low? Should I just buy another MAP CMC in the hopes the first one was just a lemon? My luck!!!

Any reason you don't want to use OEM?

I just saw a video that he bought an OEM aluminum one from Mitsubishi and while I was stationed over in Germany for the last 4 years I had no clue they had this or I would have gotten that instead of the MAP. Funny though that the OEM looks identical to the MAP so I'm not sure what to make of that. If that's the one your talking about the aluminum then that's why. If your talking about the OEM that came with the car the plastic broke in half when I installed the stage 4 and actually probably failed before that when I had the stage 3 on but I just didn't know it so it ruined my new clutch instead and started slipping.

MAP has two options for the CMC with their upgrade kit for the X. You can choose an OEM 8/9 CMC, or an aftermarket one.

I would first try bleeding the system, see if that fixes it. Then go from there. Bleeding it first is much much easier than removing the brake boost to replace the CMC...LOL

plus if you replace it your going to have to bleed it anyway, so you might as well get some practice. While your in there, you might consider also removing the restrictor. https://www.evoxforums.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=217562

Removing the restrictor only makes it harder to modulate the clutch. I do not recommend it. With the restrictor in place, you can still drop the clutch hard enough to shock the **** out of the drivetrain. Removing it is an internet folklore mod.
