Please Help!!!!!!! ROAD TRIP CAR!!!! Rebuild or repair?

Hey everyone. I have a 2015 Evo X I got a few years ago. I love her. And I hate to say it but she’s blown up. I want to take it to a shop to get her going again. First I wanted some advice from people who won’t be making money off me. This car is strictly a DD road trip car. Snowboard trips. Road trips. Highway miles, no track days, not trying to set any records. That being said. Should I rebuild this car OEM Stock or since I’m going to be spending the money anyway should I add modest upgraded internals and Bolt ons hoping for better quality of parts and a longer life expectancy. Any advice or tips would be great! Any shop recommendations would be great too! Location not a problem! Thanks

What do you mean by she's Blown up? what blew up? engine or turbo? Why did it blow up, negligence? If it's engine, go aftermarket build just in case you change your mind down the road about making more power, your motor is ready.
There's a lot of shops to take it to, do your due diligence on everything you want done & build relationships with those willing to help. Boost on!

Pretty much she gone. Threw a rod and bent some valves.. piston rings don’t look the best. Car has 80,XXX on it. I bought it at 15,XXX and have taken good care of her. So I’m not sure the reason for the issue. But copy that, I’ll just plan to put better parts in her all the way around. I just want to do this right so I won’t be back here for a while. I plan to have this car for a LONG time so I’m trying to make the correct decision.

What were you doing that you threw a rod on a "road trip" car? That doesn't just happen for no reason. Is the car completely stock?

Need more info on how the car is modded, etc. Stock motors in stock cars used for road trips don't simply kick rods out...

Well that’s what happened man. It was 5 am drinking my coffee on the way to work getting on the highway. Not smashing full throttle or anything like that. And then boom. When I got the car it was stock with 15,XXX the only thing that I have did to it is a tomei exhaust and a metal under tray. Other then maintenance that’s it.

It's possible the last owner set you up for failure. Or... a freak accident? anway...

I went with an OEM shortblock so the car would outlive me. I do track the car, but my power levels are modest and I don't want to maintain other parts of the car to support high HP levels. I'd suggest keeping everything as OEM as possible. Just my $0.02

OEM shortblock is the way to go if you want longevity and don't plan on racing or anything crazy.
