Dude, Don't get your panties in a bunch. I am saying "wait for it to get here and we'll see." That's all.

And as for experts or "Direct from a guy at Mitsubishi" I don't usually believe them. When I lost my left leg many doctors who were "Experts in their field" told me I would not walk again much less drive a stick. Today I am Autocrossing. So much for "Experts".

Still speculation, because the term "easy" is a relative term.

It's not easy to modify the prior generations of the car and maintain the same or better combustion efficiency. Lets face it, most amateur tuners leave the emissions in a mess and tune the car with brute force and without the proper instrumentation, leaving it either too far leaned out or too rich at different points. Very few end up tuned well, most end up in a used car lot as junk or blow their engines. And many shops, pseudo-professionals, leave their tuning with idle problems, or maps that can't handle certain extreme conditions - such as race tracks with repeated RPM, high temps, and heat soak. Thats where these fall apart.

Tuning this generation is going to be more challenging, like any new generation that comes along. Not only is there the SST, there is a new generation of engine control computers. Look at the bragging that Nissan did at the GT-R press days, where they outright stated that their new engine control computer quote "cannot be hacked". Things are changing in the world.

But I have faith with JDM home market tuners. They are a particularly creative bunch. They have figured it out before, and they will do it again. We can't go around crying wolf until we give them time to do their thing.

Right on!!!

BTW, today my local dealer told me they didn't have any information on the SST. I guess that means Mitsubishi isn't bringing it to this country?
