I may be only 21 and a perfect fit for your stereotype, but looks are of course subjective and I would like to think I have "a pince of aesthetic sense". I know this is easy for me to say, but I would like to think I am not biased and keep an open mind.
Red IX versus red X for example, I'll take the IX any day of the week. It is (imo of course) a better looking car, ruggedness aside hands down winner. The back of the X tail light position, wing shape and many other aspects of the car just look cheesy to me.

Blitz,

More sophistication and smoother shapes? Thats your opinion, not the general populations...

Not getting on your case, but Ive found in a world where diversity is profound, pointing out what everyone likes isn't accurate. What you like? Fine.

I have friends ranging from 18-50 who love Evo's, STi's and anything with that hard edge, no holds barred performance look.

Ariel ATOM's, for instance, dictate sheer form BY function.

Considering the car is rather expensive, what market do you suppose that is aimed for?

I know that the 2008 regular Lancer doesn't look as good on pictures as it does in real life, there is just so much detail in the body work that none of the pictures can capture it, there are nice creases, some surface flaming, and I like the shark look especially from the side profile. Also the headlights have a sophisticated shape but you gotta look at it a bit closer to see how much detail there is in the new Lancer.

As far as performance goes, so far all the reviews I have read say that Evo IX is a bit faster on 0-60 but on actual track Evo X is a better car. Also the SST at the time of reviews wasn't fully optimized by Mitsubishi so I am assuming that even the 0-60 times will be a bit better on Evo X with SST than last gen Evo IX with manual tranny. Since Mitsubishi wants to move Evo X a bit upmarket (increase prices) I think Evo X has to be faster in every imaginable way than last gen Evo, otherwise it will be a bit of a failure considering the price increase.
lol not to completely blow your "theory" out of the water... but last year i was going to wait two years to buy the evo X... then i saw the concept pictures and the next day i was at the dealership picking up my IX... im so happy i did. im glad i got the last evo before mitsubishi showed just how closely tied they are to their parent company DODGE

Damn. (not to anyone who posted for the first time)

I was hoping to see more info on the X and if there was some solid info in comparing the IX & X.
But once again....jackasses are still posting and responding to useless threads.
