Evo IX vs X
Evo IX vs X
I think they should put u a video of the IX vs the X and see the real comparison between the two. The looks IMO of the IX are so much hotter than the X but performance is what matters. So i want to see some proof
Hmmm.....interesting. After 3 years of Evo ownership I've never thought of the car as hot. Bad-***, yes, but hot?
I'm sure 1 or 2 magazines are already setting that kind of comparison. We'll see soon enough!

Hey folks,
I know I'm going to get flamed here, but here's my take on the "looks" of the cars. Since the EVO 8 came out, I thought it was beyond ugly. No doubt the car handled great, made huge power, and came with everything you need to go fast, but it looked like poop compared to the 6, 6.5 and to some, the 7. The EVO 9 came out and looked a bit nicer, slap on a EVO 8/9 JDM bumper and it made a big difference as well. But after time, the car grew on me, especially after driving it. One thing is for sure, I didn't get into these cars for the looks, it's all about performance.
The EVO 10 seems to be the same for me. The looks aren't the best (just different), but the performance is what will draw people to the car. Aside from the fact that it does not come with the infamous 4G63, it's still a performer. I think the looks will take some time to grow, once again, but no matter what, I'm sure Mitsu will sell them by the boat loads (assuming production will allow it).

I am really surprised to hear everyone say that the evo x looks like crap compared to the 9. To me, it's quite the opposite. I think that the X looks SIGNIFIGANTLY better than any evo of the past. It's nose is a little controversial, but the car from the side and back are gorgeous. It's more muscular, and to me looks a lot more like a high end sports sedan than a ricer's wet dream, which the evo 9 does. I drive an STi and the style is the main thing that pains me about the car, and the evo 9 isn't much better. And yeah, performance is what the car's supposed to be all about, but a little style and maturity never hurts. I think that people who are saying that the new car's ugly are just being fanboys for their current evo 9's. Maybe you're not the target market for the new car. I mean, for me, performance is what attracted me to the sti when I bought it almost 4 years ago, not the style. I've always been a little embarresed by the styling myself, and as I've gotten older I just can't live with the boy racer look anymore. It's the same with the evo 8/9. If style is what attracted you to the evo 9, then you LIKE the boy racer look, and of course wouldn't like the EVO X. Which is fine, but I need something with the performance AND the looks. Sorry fanboys, but the EVO X is the better looking AND performing car. I personally am glad that mitsu chose this path, because the evo's have always been incredible performers, but I couldn't stay in my early 20's forever. You'll get there too one day.

i love my evo ix dont get me wrong but thier all pretty ugly X included. I didnt buy the car because it was a nice looking car, if i wanted that i would have went with a beamer or a G35. I just like the fact that some people have no idea what kind of car it is. I also love the fact that it handles better than my dads vette, STOCK Know one has the right to say the evo X is a better performing car, show me some info to back this up.
Well, I do have the right to say that the X is the better performing car because road and track, car and driver, motor trend, and edmunds have all gotten their hands on one to test drive and the verdict is the same all across the boards, the EVO X is the superior car. So here come the facts...DEEP BREATH. A hair slower in a straight line because of the added weight, with vastly improved handling due to a much stiffer chassis, a much improved AWD system, AYC, S-AWC, etc, a much more durable 5 speed transmission with multi-cone synchros on ALL gears, not just the first 3 like most cars (including the evo 9), the list goes on and on. The car has improved suspension geometry, and the motor, despite having an aluminum block instead of iron, should prove to be superior. Direct injection, electronic throttle, MIVEC on the intake AND exhaust cams (as opposed to only on the intake for the evo 9), a timing chain instead of a belt (much more durable and maintainance free for longer intervals), hydraulic engine mounts for less shock transmitted to the drivetrain during launches and fast gear changes, as well as less vibration and noise inside the cabin, do I really need to continue? Look, the EVO 9 is badass, I have driven my friends EVO 9 MR many times, and I drive an STi, and have for almost 4 years, so I am very familiar with these cars, and the new EVO is shaping up to be the better car. I mean answer me this, has Mitsubishi ever disappointed with the next iteration of the EVO ever? NO! It will be no different this time, I assure you. And, if it convinces you any more than my extensively fact filled post already should have, the new evo X is 2 seconds faster around mitsubishi's test track than the evo 9. Road and Track confirmed this; the first time driving the car the guy shaved more than a second off of his previous run in an evo 9. So, as badass as the evo 9 is, the X is better, and who cares if it's not quite as "edgy" as the old model, it's faster around a track and can do that with a higher level of luxury and build quality, while thumping 650 watts of Rockford Fosgate goodness, and looks better than ever before doing it. Hey, if you like the 9, stick with it...it's a great car. I myself like the more mature looks and higher level of refinement and technology of the X. Different strokes for different folks, right?

edit: They also stated that the turbo lag at 2000 rpm slowed down the car from 0-60. If they could dump the clutch at say fuel cut off, which is 7600 rpm, I think they would have yield very different results.

you have some blunt opinions there man...especially coming from an non-evo owner...
I thought in M/T they stated that they could only rev to 5500 rpm when they launched the car, as opposed to the 9 where you can dump the clutch at redline.
