with a chassis code of CZ4A, i'm sure things are just a lil different from the CT9A in terms of swapping things. 4b11 looks like it still has trans facing drivers side...

You people crack me up. I know here in the good ol' USA "RS" is just a trim level, and can be found on cars like Camaros which are about as far from a rally car as possible, but everywhere else in the world RS ACTUALLY MEANS "Rally Sport," and as such, is only sold for race teams to modify for racing. There is no reason to pay for "race inspired" recaros when you are just going to swap them for some actual racing seats. No reason to buy the "race inspired" brembos when you are going to swap them out for some Alcons or something. There is no need for brand new 18" wheels when you are just going to swap them out for smaller ones with off-road tires on them. They sold the "RS" here as a streetable car because they knew Americans would buy them for street use. But to criticize the JDM RS model for being a stripped down model is just beyond funny, and really emphasizes the fact that the USA is in its own little world, totally oblivious to how the rest of the world thinks.

I'm also sure that their RS is probably a lot lighter, as well

It is really refreshing to read carefully constructed sentences and well thought out
arguments. Thank you.

I dread these RS threads.

People still don't realize that the RS has a place.

Why pay for stuff you aren't going to use or will get in the way?

Just to add to a very well written response, keep in mind that until X JDM, RS came with steel wheels so the X is better equipped . Also all cars in Japan are limited to 112 mph, which I believe is a new law...

Actually the RS wheels of old were made from aluminium, just made in the shape of steelies, why they went to that expense when the wheels would just be thrown away is a bit strange.

Oh yeh, those wheels on the evo10 RS are the wheels that the EC5A galant VR4 used (16x6.5), its not quite flash enough to use the old evo9 wheels.

It looks like there is one cool thing exclusive to the RS, or at least it's exclusive as far as I can tell...

An aluminum alloy titanium turbocharger!

(Google translation of http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/e...de/gra_06.html)

Lightweight and boast a high strength aluminum alloy titanium turbocharger adopted. Low turnover in the region of TORUKUAPPU and supercharger response has improved, turbo car PIKI possible from the driver freed.

my thought is, y don't car makers just make cars we really want? give us the option to buy the "badazz" model. or better yet, sell evos like scions-stripped down but at least have the option of adding niceties to it. everybody hemmed & hawwed over the fq400 & ppl said it was too expensive yet they sold them all!!!

when we can buy the rs model really stripped (no interior, no wheels/brakes, etc...) then that would be nice to put on a few choice items & drive off the showroom floor already hooked up. like the old muscle cars in the 60's were. there were hundreds of dealer options for those cars.

warranty wouldn't even b an issue really bcuz the US is the only country where cars have a warranty. everywhere else in the world, buying a car is like buying a dvd player, u just buy it!
