The only video i seen the x beating the ix around the track was when mitsu tested the jdm x vs. the usdm ix, which was apples and oranges.

And the reason they did that was because weight wise JDM X weights about 50lbs more than USDM IX, they probably wanted to show that at around the same weight Evo X is a faster car than Evo IX.

I guess if your logic is twisted enough, you can justify anything. Motortrend tested the cars on a track and went through similar contortions to tout the X's abilities, but when you look at the times, guess what, the IX spanked the X. All this argument about the better car, the nicer interior, etc seems pointless to me. There will always be nicer cars than a Mitsubishi. There shouldn't be faster ones.

I wouldn't say easily. The EXO X sst lead for the first 3 laps and lost the lead when its transmission started messing up. The IX had to catch the X and only did so because the X's gear box went south.

Let's stick with the truth ok? The IX started in the back of the grid, outlaunched the X VERY BADLY, and pulled on it VERY HARD and was practically in the lead by the first turn. On a road course you need a passing opportunity in order to pass. Once that opportunity came, the IX was GONE!

But don't forget that it was a JDM IX MR, with the improved turbo (titanium-alloy turbine wheel and magnesium compressor wheel), improved AYC (which the US Evos don't even have and Eibach springs - a superior car to the US IX.

Seriously though, the X is not that bad... Stop flaming already!

Its a good looking car, it will perform well on a road course, anyone can drive it (being automatic). I see the car doing as well, if not better, the previous EVOs, this will be the first auto stateside, some people are horribly anti manual, they might look at the EVO this time around.
An automatic 4 cylinder doing 13.6?? Thats pretty nuts.

Everyone hates a redesign when it comes out

So the US SST would likely run 13.8-13.9....with the same driver....

Ehh...

Actually the ix was a GSR (5 speed) model not an MR, the JDM MR is faster than the JDM GSR so it could have been worse.
