13.6 for the SST in Super Sport (beating the manual). Interestingly it doesn't seem as though there is any launch control used (in this clip anyway)? Basically the guy takes his foot off the break and jams it on the gas. I thought most of these sorts of transmissions involved some sort of launch control like being able to hold the break and gas at the same time then release the break to launch? Anyone know how the DSG system works for launches?
If they could work out some sort of launch control that time would obviously come down further. I like

Launch control for the SST is 5000rpms {thumpup}
This clip is the part of the Best motoring Jan 08 .. this review really sucks as they (the drivers) seriously doesn't know how to drive the SST ..
You're right about the driver not launching .. and also he's in FULL AUTO mode .. not really sure what he's trying to prove .. he should have done it in S-Sport manual ..

they should both be the same. cars are pretty much identical. he did use launch control for one of the runs, and it was 13.7. the 13.6 run didn't look like he launched at all. the guy driving the 5MT was driving like a watery douche. shifting slower than my girlfriend.

Something is fishy with the MT vs. SST comparo... In 4th gear the SST pulls hard on the 5spd while IN gear. This makes no sense as there is no physical way for the SST to be accelerating faster at this point unless it is a) lighter or b) making more power. The SST car, if it shifts faster, would jump ahead during shifts and then steadily pull away in between shifts. I don't think he is shifting THAT slow in the MT car either. This reminds me of the DSG VW tests which later were admitted to be differently tuned cars.

it's not slow. it's not a drag car. around a race track it'll beat the IX. it's just not faster in a str8 line...personally though, i think it would have been a good idea to introduce a car that beats the previous model in EVERY facet of performance.
It must be some hi tech computers to haul all that weight. I have all the US versions of best motoring and if the cars are close in performance the newest release always wins due to the best driver are appointed to them. (Tysuchia, gan-san, and hatorri) I love the evo but 14 sec quarter mile? My S2000 CR can beat it in a straight line
Interesting to see the results of running the SST in different modes.
Something that may go part way to explaining the big difference in 1/4 mile times.
"A little secret - it seems that the boost alters depending on which mode you use. "

I would like to hear the comment from the translated version of best motoring.
