^^I dunno what reviews you've seen but all I've seen have said that the X's steering is a lot heavier and less responsive. But thanks to the op for lettin us in on his opinion..which i happen to share, it looks just like a gts with intercooler..no more wide body style flared fenders and such

i'm in maryland i know what ship yard you are talking about, there are cars for days there, i should go down there and see can i spot a X , but it would be too hard to tell with out seeing the intercooler, if the X handles like a TL, they should just rename it there TL-type s becasue thats what it looks like.

Wow, thats horrible. This is the type of care, dock workers give to the cars??? Thats horrible. Even its just a 1st gear pull, there is no reason why that should happen. Good to know what kind of people we have working our import/export docks. Ohh and how can you even have an opinion, when all you did was do a 1st gear pull, and then base it in comparison to your 11 sec car. Cmon man dont drive the cars like that, not cool.

yeah, this is the most comprehensive and full review of the EVO X to date, (and as a bonus done on a ship track similiar to nuremberg) it has definitely convinced me that the car sucks and it looks like TL and interior is cheap, and steering sucks.

The evolution is dead, shut down this forum now !!!!

thread starter has owned himself in so many ways.

btw, you have to be a blind idiot to not be able to tell the difference between a base lancer and the Evo X.

I think a lot of people are naive to the whole process. They also had to get on the ship in Japan, and they will see hell for sure in route to their respective dealers in the US.

Thanks to the OP for posting.

None of the reviews I have read said that Evo X steering is a LOT heavier, all I have seen magazines mention is that Evo X is a BIT less sharp than previous gen Evo X but thats mostly because Mitsu increased the steering ratio which they said can be easily tuned to Evo IX numbers. However, most of the magazines I have read state that Evo X is a better handling car than previous Evos and a better car at twisties.

And as far as Evo X looking similar to GTS, well damn, if people can see a difference between a 2003 base Lancer and 2003 Evo then they will also see a difference between current line.

You guys are being a little hard on the OP. He didn't say the X was the worst car ever built and that no one should buy it. He admits that he didn't have distance to get a fair sprint. He wasn't on a road course. It was basically a parking lot.

I can't wait for the X to hit the dealerships just so you guys can get this hostility out of your systems.

I am thinking to remove the spoiler from my X when I get it in about 2 weeks. I don't want to draw so much attn with the cops. And the spoiler does nothing really at speeds of 80 mph and less.

I wasn't being hostile, just expressing my sadness that even a new X fresh off the trailer has likely been abused by people with no respect for other people's new cars...i mean, say what you want about the break-in period, and how insignificant the abuse may be, but if the manufacturer recommends not exceeding a certain RPM for a certain number of miles, i'd like like to think it's at the customer's discretion to follow it, and not have the process ruined by ricky racer launching it and redlining it in 1st gear on the damn boat...likely when the engine is cold...

ummm, I can undoubtedly identify an IX from a base lancer or even a ralliart. In fact they have different front ends and the base lancers aren't wide at all. So you would have to be a blind idiot if you couldn't spot the differences.

In defense of the poster those engines have seen a lot more abuse, than he's applied to it. They have to make sure it's been properly assembled and they usually run it through the equivalent of 100 miles. Quit giving the guy crap, the X is a decent car but I too have read the steering has gotten heavier mainly due to Mitsubishi wanting to build a more family oriented car. If it helps the Japanese most likely floor your car onto the boat as well, I guess it's acceptable since it's "JDM" right?
