Nice vid. Seemed like a close race all around.

The X must not be that bad. After reading some of the posts here, I would have thought that the STI's and the Evo ix would have flew past the Evo Xs as soon as the flag dropped , and then proceed to leave the Xs in the dust. But that isn't what happened. Even the Auto-Shifting SST was able to hold off the Evo ix for a few laps, and when the sst did get passed, the sst did not get left in the dust. And all of this on a racetrack! On public roads that aren't straight, the drivers skill will make more of a difference than the differences between the cars.

Yes, X is not that bad. But almost every other car of note is improving,
MS3 G37, M3 and GTR, just to name a few, except Evo. STI sort of stayed at the same place or it may improved a little. X devolved somewhat in
the performance measures. That's most of us so called X haters' concern.
Let's hope that the next few iterations will bring a better Evo.

Well, it's right on the heels of the JDM IX...and other than that, it's a better overall car.

You act like a minute time deficit around a track couldn't be made up with $500 worth of mods.

Exactly. You know why? Because it's not that big of a difference. Many of the guys here are XIII and IX fanbois, are blow the performance difference of the X vs the IX way out of proportion.

I'm not a fanboi of any car company even thought I tend to stick with a few. I say I'll wait a year or 2 with the X. new tech and mitsu is like mixing oil and water.

Every EVO from 1-9 had improvements to the 4G63, now there starting with a new platform. This is all ok but they dropped the 4G63 and started new, my problem is if the 4B11 is so much better than the 4G63 then why is it producing almost the same numbers?
Ok now the aftermarket has to make parts for it, have fun waiting 2-5 years depending on how many people actually buy this car. I am not talking bolt on's I am talking real engine internals.
For 35K-40K I would rather spend it on a car that has a strong aftermarket in place like the IX.
Anyone else notice every EVO has had some what of the previous EVO's look? What’s with the X? It looks nothing like an EVO and more like a dodge.
Even thought it placed 3rd did you notice it had the 2nd quickest lap time just a few tenths behind the new Sti?

all nice cars, but the IX still wins... best lap time, which means with a more consistent driver (or starting in pole pos) it probably would have won.

these things are almost meaningless in terms of gauging a cars really performance vs another car, just good fun

Again, alot of you guys forget that these are not USDM models.. the Subie Spec C's have always had the edge on evo's...

We have yet to see a spec c version of the new sti...

wrong. STi Spec C vs EVO IX MR RS, EVO wins. if you put a Spec C vs a fully loaded EVO model, then the Spec C could take it, and even then it comes down to the drivers. you have to compare the right models. you can't run a gutted version to a fully loaded one.

interesting video. Would have been a much better comparison if they used the MR, which in Japan has a more aggressive ACD controller. GSR has a ACD more setup for street or straight line driving, while the MR has a version which is better for circuit and Gymkhana.

eh? maybe your right, maybe your not? IMO the Spec C is not a gutted version. If anything, its the Spec C RA-R should be compared to the IX MR RS
