i beleive this video is already on the forum I could be wrong, but I am sure its been beaten almost to death in a short period of time with different points of view.

Although i am confident in the whole spirit of a good friendly race, but I dont think any of them are really driving the car to the limits. Time trials would probably be better.

There all good cars.

I think the IX would have been even faster had it been a 5 SPD

Ya, are you guys sure this is a repost? There is a discussion on the results of the Feb 2008 Best Motoring here (link to thread) but I don't think that the full battle was ever posted before.

I think this is new. The previous one did not have the new STI in it.

This is indeed a new video and a different race. So this is the SECOND time the Evo Xs got beat bad. The IX had the 2nd fastest lap time, I bet it would have been fastest if it didn't have to pass the other cars.

I give props to the new STI. Looks like a great car!

Yeah, it's a race, where driver mistakes, and the launch can(and do, just look at the mistake the X driver made-running wide, allowing the STI to come underneath him)make all the difference. Finding out which one turns the fastest lap time would invlove the same driver turning laps in them all, on an empty track. Even then, it's assuming the driver has no personal interest in the outcome, and doesn't favor any of 'em over the rest. I guess it would mean multiple tests from different sources.

wrong. the MR is faster around the track than the standard IX. not only is the 6speed tranny better for road racing, but so is the suspension, and the other upgrades that come on the MR. i think the IX MR would have been faster with a better driver.

^^exactly...there's no way the old subi would beat the ix around the track...the new one maybe...the ix and the new subi are pretty equal as far as the numbers go....comes down to the driver
