I wonder if the result will have been different, if Tsuchiya have drove the X....

The X SST should have pp not the STI, and theX GSR should be second on the grid. how did the STI place 2 spots ahead of the IX when there equal in perfomance

They are all great cars, and if you can afford to, and have the situation to have any one of them, you should feel blessed.

these things are almost meaningless in terms of gauging a cars really performance vs another car, just good fun
Where did you get that from? Best lap time?

The best lap of the new STI: 1'05"67
The best lap of the old Evo: 1'06"09

That should show you right there, that a race isn't the best place to evaluate performance. Do you really think the STI is 4-seconds faster a lap? 4-seconds is a lifetime. I don't remember, but I'm guessing the STI was on the front row, right? It got out in front, and was able to run clean lines. The Evo was stuck in traffic, and was having to run defensive lines, and driving all over the place trying to pass. Sounds like I'm an Evo apologist, which I'm not, but allow them to all run clean laps and then look at the lap times.

Hey guys,

A few observations from that video. Firstly, I believe this particular video shows the true accelartion capabilities of the EXO X GSR.

First a few assumptions:

1. All cars shown in video are JDM spec (lighter, faster) than USDM.
2. ALL USDM spec cars will be heavier/slower than these.

If your looking at the starting grid from the front, the Evo X 5mt is in the far right lane about a car length behind the STI before the start. Once the light goes green, the older sti (06 or 07?) does not seem to pull any ground on the X at all. Now since both cars are in the front of their perspective lanes, there would not of been any braking going on here. Barring a bad launch by the sti, it looks as if the X is at least as fast as the older STI, which was what, a solid 13.2 car?? Granted that's the JDM version. So add on the weight and I'm guessing the true 1/4 mile time of the USDM X is 13.5.

I'd really like to see how the USDM versions of all the cars shown would stack up to the JDM cars in the video. I really, really want to see a comparison of USDM IX against USDM X.

Somewhere I saw a side-view of a race-prepped '08 STI, and really liked the looks. In this video, I wasn't really paying attention, and I saw the back of the STI, and thought "What is a station wagon doing in there". Seriously

Ops typo, I mean The best lap of the old Evo: 1'06"09. Actually that track is where all the japanese cars go evaluate performance. The new STI start at the very end.

Call me crazy but I dont have the typical American aversion to wagons. If Mitsu would have sold the Evo wagon here, I'd be driving one of those instead.
