thinking about getting the new 08 evo

Hey guys i'm new on this forum but not to the world of car forums. i'm currently a member of the audizine forums and i own a 2007 audi a4. i'm a big fan of AWD cars and i cant drive a car that's not awd. recently i've been thinking about getting the new 2008 lancer evo because of reliability issues with my audi and also, it's very underpowered. I've had a variety of issues with my car already before hitting 10k miles. I'm looking for a car that looks good, has power, looking forward to switch to stick since i have an auto, and has to be awd; the evo seems to meet those needs. before i go any further, i have a couple of questions. If you guys can give me some input as to whether i should trade my car for an evo, that also would be helpful.

1. Does the "twin clutch" mean you can drive the car like an auto and also like a manual?

2. is it true that the car will reach up to 300 bhp?

3. Do you guys think i should give up an audi a4 quattro for an evo?

4. For people who own an evo, are there any reliability issues?

sorry i know i could search for some of this stuff but it'll take alot of time-- which i dont have alot of. Thanks abunch

1. Twin clutch means there are two clutches to achieve faster shifts. But yes, you can drive the Evolution X in automatic or "manual" mode through paddle shifters. If you want a true manual, you would have to go with the GSR model.

2. The Evolution X is said to have 295 bhp from factory.

3. Sure, I would.

4. People will always give different responses to this question. However, I do not think you should base the reliability of the Evolution X on previous generations of Evolutions because the X is a whole new car (not to mention the first year of its kind). Previous generation Evolutions can go 50K and more without any issues beyond regular maintenance depending on how you drive the car. Of course, as with any car, reliability goes down when start modding.

pic the car that you like, not what someone else thinks is good. if you like the audi, go with that. if you like the evo, go with that, otherwise you will be kicking yourself in the butt if you listen to someone else. go with your gut. just my 2 cents

Sure the evo will perform and drive much better, but you also have to remember its not a luxury-type car, so you can't expect it to be all your audi is and more

Does anyone else think there would be tons of Evo X's on the road by now? I heard at the stealership\dealership there was some debate about making them flex-feul capable.

According to most articles and test drives, the X is a beautiful combination of sport and luxury. That is what the X represents to persuade haters.
