Yeah, that's pretty much what I expect, but it doesn't hurt to hope.

Regardless of what it comes with supesnsion wise I'm sure the aftermarket will have plenty of better choices in a relatively short amount of time. I'm more concerned with and hoping the motor will take to tuning and mods like how the initial reports are coming out for the X. AMS and Shiv seem to be having great success so far extracting power out of the 4B11T.

Can't disagree that the SST will be a great setup - dual clutch gearboxes are definitely the way forward. Flexible and high performing - easy to cruise in traffic etc. - yet lethal when strafing the curves - saves miliseconds on shifting.

I used to own a MKV Golf R32 with the DSG when they first came out (they've been avalable in the international market for about 2 years before finally arriving in the US). Excellent car. But almost too excellent. Comfortable, fast, easy to drive, ready for any situation, excellent tranny. A+ build quality. Reliable. A real cruise missile on the roads. Etc.

So I sold it and now I drive a modded IX RS, and am having ALOT more fun...food for thought.

Edit: don't mean that in an IX vs. X way, all I'm saying is that the RA, X GSR and X MR models will each have their own unique niches to fill. For me, the less computer assistance on my car, the better. That's all.

I agree with that general sentiment. I enjoy my car because it takes some degree of skill to drive let alone drive fast. With all of the new computer gadgetry, my 57 year old mom could drive fast around a track and she's no racer.

? Why would you need an STI and a ralliart? If I was going to buy a DD, I'd get something that was small, cheap and fuel efficient not large, expensive and gas guzzling.

That's why you have the STI/Evo.

True but the ralliart won't be much better. It's basically a detuned evo so it'll have much of the same problems. A civic would be a wicked DD.

Definitely. A phenomenal way to stand out from the crowd too, and awesome in the snow.

But seriously, why would a Ralliart be so awful in traffic? No clutch to contend with...

I'm only partially being a smartass. I'm actually curious as to what I'm missing, as I've never owned a performance car.

wow, getting way off topic here =/ if your 16 and complain about traffic in 'small town', then sell the STi, keep the GLI, and use the STi money for a few seasons of racing in the GLI at your local road course track. If you in west PA, check out Beaver Run They have some great instructors, and its one of my favorite courses you'll have more fun in a so-so car on a track than you will in a supercar on a public road.

I'm with Hibby. What makes the RA so bad in traffic? TC-SST makes the car just as good as an automatic doesn't it? I've never owned a performance car either, but figure that the extra power would be a definite plus for merging into unforgiving LA traffic.

It makes it better than full automatic because it's semi-automatic.
