I hardly doubt it, the IX's are the lowest production Evo so far... the value should hold pretty well.

i don't think the collectibility of the IX is "timeless." I would expect a dowturn in the market price of the IX and especially the VIIIs.

Prices for the IX's will not drop, According to Mitsubishi Sale personel. They are more than likley going to raise because so many people are trying to get them, And there hard to find and hard to get someone to sell it to you if you do find it. Better get one now, I just got another one and it was a pain in the keaster, From what he showed me the list of all new IX's was only 3 pages long with about 10 on each page. Good luck.

Evo s IXs price will RAISE, period. according to many source, the amount of Evo IX was produced was one of the lowest of all evo generations. At the same time, it was one of the most refined of all time. In the end, mitsu even put out the ES version (red stiching, MR bodykit, carbon int, BBS RIMS, etc) which wasnt too much more than the GSRs. Performance wise its proven that it is very formidable even with current gen evo and other vehicles on the market. With arguably "the last true evo" title, a good conditioned EVO IX s price is going nowhere but up. And especially after test driving a X , personally on some level, if u already have a IX SE or MR the new GSR s probly nothing but a down grade( performance, and some of the look =[ )

The values of the VIII and IX will hold strong since the new one is more expensive.

People may call me an X hater but I have absolutely no delusions about the value of my IX staying high. With this US economy IXs are flooding the used car market as repos. Of course it also means less Xs will sell, and less Mitsubishi cars overall for that matter. I'm waiting for the January sales numbers to see if they are has horrific as the December ones.

Like everything else prices drop unless you can find someone STUPID enough to pay the premium. Everyone thought that the 05 EVO VIII was gonna be the last good EVO because no one knew what MIVEC would do to the IX, that was proven wrong with time now '05's are on sale all over the place for great prices if you shop around. You can even find IX's for sell for great prices now since the X is out. If you actually buy a IX for more from a dealer because he says that it will always hold its price the you have fallen for one of there many sales tactics. Most salesmen are actually trained to be cunning and exploit your weaknesses. Sometimes that means that just because you love a car you shouldn't share it to a car salesman.

But I am sure for a short period of time the prices will stay high just like homes until everyone realizes that no one is willing to pay that much and then it will be a rush to drop your price and sell your car for as much as you can get before the prices are too cheap. I believe that it is called Capitalism.....

If you actually buy any car to make a profit on I have some great stocks to sell you, . If you own a IX good luck I hope the prices stay up there but the days of the 2JZ Supra are gone. Our economy is in shambles and people just don't have as much money to through around. Bargain shopping is the "word".

Just my opinions please don't get you panties in a wad or get mad at me.

Don't kid yourselves -- the IX isn't that limited and its not going to hold its value or rise. Have you checked the classifieds lately and seen the actual prices they are going for?
