So? I'm not impressed with your 100whp more since you obviously put way more money into it than I.

I am not saying you can't afford the car. I am implying that you are a hater and need to get off this forum and go back to the 1-9 forums if all you want to do is poop in the X. It gets old, dude.
And I'm telling you to mind your business since I wasn't talking to you nor even addressed you. If you think I'm a hater, fine. It shouldn't bother you. There are plenty of "haters" on these forums. Are you going to go out of your way to insult all of them?

And for the record, I'm not pooping the X. Just because I state my dislike of the blown up enthusiasm over the car doesn't make me a hater. It makes me a realist.

I hope you enjoy your evo until the next most "hyped" car comes out like the GT-R - maybe you'll trade it in like you did your VIII, IX and 335i to stay "current"..

I don't go specifically to street racing events.. I'm too old for that. But I won't back down from a good run - and that's just being honest.

I also don't think "kids" make up the bulk of EVO owners.

There are enthusiasts out there that use their EVOs for weekend road-racing or autox fun. You only need to go out to a local SCCA club or other car clubs that organize track events, and you will see people that use their EVOs for track.
I've road raced before with my car and while it's pretty intense, I personally prefer a straight line run. RR will definitely wear down an engine/drivetrain faster than anything and most people who have car notes want to make their cars last as long as possible.

You know, that's a phenomenon I've noticed since I bought my Subaru, it seems very common with these kinds of cars, much more so than in the land of Mustang I came from. So many people trade up after just two years, sometimes every year. That's just wild.

The reason I addressed you is because your posts are the most misinformed ones in this thread and you've been ranting like a lunatic.

Be safe out there and don't crash into a tree when you're street racing Bubba's Mustang on the interstate.

And there's nothing wrong with it.. I'm just saying that you can't knock a previous generation or "older" car just because you have a new one.

NONE of my posts have been uninformed. I've only used information quoted from shops that already have the X. So I don't know what you are talking about there..

Don't act like you've never raced on the street before dude. Almost everyone here on these boards have done it at some point in their life. It amazes me that you (as popular as you are on these boards) are pulling the self-righteous card on me!! Weak!!

Dude, I liked my VIII more than any car I owned before it and liked my IX even better. I think a IX with SAYC would be a potent car indeed, and I'd probably still have it if the USA didn't get shafted.

I did, and I learned the hard way back in 2004. $1100 and a night in jail. I would like to see you dodge that bullet and take your car to the track instead (drag, autox, track days, whatever).

I just wish we got the JDM car over here (or at least a 2.5L that revved to 8K.)

The Evo X is looking to be a great car, but it is far from being superior to the STI. If there is one thing I fault Subaru for is going to a brand new tire for the USDM car and having such ****ty factory alignments. One 08 owner had 0 degrees of camber upfront. Not exactly conducive to good handling. Furthermore, the 08s have the same ****ty tune as the 07s. Just like the Evo X there are massive improvements waiting in the wings from a simple ECU flash.

Since you love your mag-racing and are talking about old reviews, I guess you forgot how the 05 STI out-ran the Evo around a track when Car and Driver put them on equal tires. The same could happen with the 2008, though AYC is definitely a great advantage. As I said, the Evo X is looking to be a nice package (though I can't stand the looks) but some of you people and your "Subaru engineers suck" slogans need to give it a rest. The cars are far from being THAT different in performance.

Edit:

Oh and before you think I'm some random fanboy coming in to defend the STI, I've been here since '04, but I can't remember what my account was so had to create a new one. Lastly, I'm quite happy that Mitsu is stepping up to the game as it just means Subaru will have to make some improvements for next year. This rivalry is the reason we have such amazing cars to argue about in the first place.
All you do is sound like a Subaru Fan boy.

I'll trust the actual video of the IX stomping the X on the track in Top Gear until I see some US numbers from average people.

Where did you see this video? I just searched the entire Top Gear archives and they have nothing posted about running a Evo X. What episode was it?

Edit- Bah, never mind, read through all the crap talking in this thread and realized you posted incorrect information. Anyway, why are you being so hard on the Evo X? Its fine to not like the car, but, as you said earlier about bashing your 03, it doesn't give you the right to think its crap since you haven't even driven it. Besides, if the only goal is to make something fast, thats easy as hell to do. I couldn't tell you how many times I have seen a piece of crap civic doing <10 second runs in the 1/4. And contrary to your statement earlier, it is easy to add power. At least it was on the Evo VIII due to its simplicity. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be such a big market for it. WTH was the topic in this thread again?

Here's a better question - if the EVO is meant to be a road-racing track car, how come very few people do it?
Just shut the **** up? Okay? Piece of **** hater.

Yea but the X had issues through the solam course it could not transfer it self properly from left to right quickly with out throwing its *** out and hitting cones. And the fact that it didnt want to transfer itself through the cones, aacording to edmunds. It's something mitisubishi needs to work on. It's understandable that they have these issues with the ecu and all, cause its only the first year their implementing s-awc and s-awd into their evos. But this means the next year evo should have all isssue sorted out and other little things people are not going to like about the first year evo X. And be something very noticiable to see in the handling department vs the evo 9 gsr.

Can someone tell me how did the R32 became an EVO/STI Competitor? I think the R32s should be compared against Honda Accord coupes, not Evos and STIs.

Every X that's been tested has been a pre-production unit.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to compare an R32 to an Accord. I've driven both the old and new one and they do have some serious speed. Not Evo speed but then you do get a really nice driving environment.
