Interior preference.. VIII/IX vs X GET IN HERE AND VOTE!
I don't think there is any objective way to justify the IX's interior over the X. Anyone who claims that the IX has a superior interior is most likely a IX owner who has deluded themselves to the point where, in their mind, it actually looks nicer.
I like that!Interestingly, the STi offers a much more drastic approach. Just when I thought that Mitsubishi went overboard with the SST badging on the console and the gargantuan logo on the steering wheel, Subaru included no less than 13 logos in its interior and another 12 on the outside of the car. That's a grand total of 25 frucking badges! There was a time when I chuckled at my neighbor's Impala SS with 3 factory badges with a foot of space, and the ridiculous CT9A MR badge on the center console, but not anymore.
I voted, but does anyone else not see the sense in arguing about visuals?
When I was considering my Evo I found an STi for a lot less and checked it out. Rather than talking power and handling, the dealer tried winning me over by pointing out the glowing gauges that go to redline on start-up. Wow. Needless to say I went with the better handling car.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but when your Evo is covered in mud your shiny interior won't matter much. Unless this is no longer a rally car that people buy for raw power and insane handling? I have no problem with a little shiny shiny, I did buy the MR after all, but come on...let's not lose focus here. But, then again, maybe it's just me.

I can't seem to grasp how having a very quick, great handling car means that one isn't allowed to discuss its interior, especially in the context of the preceding model. Your argument would have some validity if this discussion revolved around issues that are congruent with the car's interior serving a function of primary importance, but it doesn't. Nor is anyone advocating the inclusion of amenities that are detrimental to performance - just the opposite, in fact. As such, I fail to see your point especially since this thread is clearly titled as being interior-driven.
I wouldn't necessarily say that. The IX is a bit sleeker while the X is a bit cluttered. Yes it shines a bit nicer, but a set of Trustz gauges can fix that on a IX. I think my only major gripe about the interior of the X is the steering wheel...I imagine that would make any aftermarket wheels a bit of a nuisance.
I own both an Evo 8 and Evo X. I find the X interior much better when reviewing it against my 8. Just the layout and new amenities make the Evo X interior a much nicer place to be especially during long cruises. Easier to read the White Guages and the LCD display has loads of cool information when you change the display. Overall I prefer the X as a DD and the 8 is a dedicated track car now.

I actually liked the amber on my Evo VIII. I just didnt like how all the plastics started vibrating after 10k miles. I had to put tape on my glove compartment to stop it from making so much damn noise while driving, the pillars vibrate against the windows over bumps, etc, etc, etc. Then again, I actually use my cars AWD system for more then launching. ie, Rally-x, going to the mountain, off roading, you know, the real reason one needs AWD
Unfortunately, I dont see myself doing all these things with the X for some reason. But, I may buy a wrecked VIII and build a rally car. They are good beater cars.

This is posted in the 10 forum so 10 fanboys will be the primary voters.
Today I got to drive an EVO10. The sale person came with me so I didn't get to test out the AYC but I did drive it in various conditions for about 20 minutes.
I'm not one to give a flying frick about climate or radio controls. I bought an evo to drive it like an evo.
My interior priorities:
1. Seats for aggressive driving
2. Steering for aggressive driving
4. Gearing and shifting (not testable in stock pooch form)
3. Gauges for aggressive driving
I have to say I think for aggressive driving the EVO10 was worse than the EVO9.
That being said odds are the EVO10 will end up being faster around the track but that has very little to do with the interior.
The seats of the 9 (SE) are better.
The 9 momo feels and looks better
I prefer the all orange dash with center tach over whatever happened to the 10s dash.
The seats and steering wheel would be an easy but expensive fix.
