i'm to busy to read this thread, has anyone stated that vortex generators are useless, they are not new technology , if they did anything they would be on the new X and every other sports car out there, on top of that they look tacky..

Here is what it looks like, it is functional. VG's have been use in aerospace over the leading edge of aircraft wings for years to direct airflow to the trailing edge/flaps. They are bound to be for sale very soon. Just let someone get one from FQ to copy and there will be many different ones for sale.

I'm thinking wingless gray X MR w/paint matched VG might be in my future looking at these pics. For people who already have Xs, is the antenna in the picture with the aftermarket VG the stock length one?

Nope. Looks like the Perrin 2" stubby to me.

Personally think that aftermarket VG looks ****

When it's not a factory option in your country you gotta take what you can get!

How much "downforce" does one really need at the speeds most of us will be running (excludes people who religiously track their car)? I think its a bit of a tacky contrast on the roof myself. I definately wouldn't get it for "looks".

You dont need these for the streets. Track benefits are probably even negligible. Mostly just a cosmetic piece that's either love it or hate it.

Off Topic but does the UK have a different badging than us? I see lancer evolution X on that back of that FQ on the lower left hand part of the trunk.

VG on a X= EWWWWW...!!

Obviously the Aerodynamics of the X didn't call for them, so they were not needed.

Now, If you place them on your X just for looks, then don't forget your type-R badge as well... lol RICE!!
