I painted my wheels with the Duplicolor wheel paint and it's awesome. It takes a little bit of patience and technique, but the results are great. I've gotten a lot of compliments from my friends and others in the parking lot. Here is a sample of my wheels that I have on my Titan. It cost me around $25 total... that sure beats the $200-$300 that you'd have spent on powder coating. I've dug these wheels deep into some sand/shells/rock and they've stood up well. Sorry if it's not the Evo guys.

I agree with powder coating...Reg basecoat clear coat wont last nearly as long and tends to flake off when it gets scratched or scraped

Will it last long?... Absolutely, but it depends on the amount of prep work done to the surface you're painting. If you simply paint over your wheels without doing the required degreasing, sanding, scotchbriting, and recleaning then you'll end up with paint that wont last long. My wheels have stood up to some abuse that an Evo wheel wont... i.e. getting stuck in abrasive sand and rock pits where you are torturing the painted wheels. My wheels did get a small rock nick to the leading edge of my rear wheels when I absolutely buried the truck once, but that is expected. Would you expect the hood of your car to not chip if you threw a few rocks at it? Nope... paint is paint. If it's thick enough, it might take more abuse though. (That's my tip to survivability)

I've had a powder coated frame on one of my previous R1's (sportbike) and guess what... the powder coat did flake off in certain areas. I was pretty mad.
