AEM TRU-Boost install question!
AEM TRU-Boost install question!
I just got my AEM Tru-Boost today and I have it part way installed. I can not for the life of me find a way to get the wires to the engine bay. I have searched all over the firewall with not luck. The only other way I can think of is to drill a hole through the wall, which is my last resort. Any help would be appreciated.
Are you referring to a IX or a X shunder? There is no grommet that I am aware of for the IX. I had to drill a hole to get mine through. The best place to do this is where the steering column goes through the firewall. You only have to remove a small plastic piece, and drill. No carpet in the way etc. Be careful where you do it though, as the brake lines are on the other side of that plate, and you will run into them if you go in the wrong spot.
I just checked every inch of the wall on the Evo X and there is no grommet to be found. I will try to drill a hole where the steering column. Thanks for the help so far I will see if this works hopefully so.
Man did mitsubish put alot of carpet and sound deadener in this thing there is carpet and them under that is more carpet/deadener. It's everywhere I guess that where that extra 200 lbs came from

haha, I know what you mean. Yeah, I couldnt find a grommet either. Fortunately, there is no carpet under the plastic part for the Steering column. Pretty easy actually. I should have just done that first and saved myself 1 hour searching for a place. I drilled a 7/8 in hole, and put a large grommet in.
Yeah I just removed the plastic piece from the steering column it was really easy. Nothing in the way on the other side, plus right where I need it to be. Thanks quys.

That is terrible you have to drill a hole in your new car just to pass through the firewall. Surely there is an access grommet somewhere. If not, there can be any add on factory guages with this car on the MR.
