you are right variable times, but when the IX is usually slower in those circumstences ,so the X will be a same ...

you got to like these debates.
So what did you run in your IX bone stock? Just curious. Every time someone talks about 1/4 times for the X you say how IXs run 12s no problem. Most owners can't get that out of one and neither can most "tuners" or whatever you call them. I have yet to see a IX run better than a 13.5 here where I live and it isn't because of elevation, dirty air, or a poor track or any other variable...it is because most people can't accomplish what you are saying is a standard time ofr a IX.

FWIW I ran 13.7 in my 05 VIII here while I got used to the car and eventually ran 12.9-13.1 stock and 12.5-12.7 with a downpipe and clutch.

I know my X won't be able to do that, but I have run both cars side by side for fun and they are dead even through 4 gears...actually I was a fender in front in the X

Some have even ran 10's on stock clutch carefully. But thats not really the topic.

Anyways the X gearing is indeed shorter. It has the same gear ratios as a IX but a shorter final drive ratio. Redline is at 104mph and revlimiter is at 110mph I believe. To me the evo has never been a drag car its just always happened to be good at it. Mitsubishi really made the X more for cornering. Their are alot of things that just aren't going to help it drag racing. Too heavy, short geared, obviously the clutch. I would think with most bolts ons and a tune mid 12's would probably be the norm. To get 11's you are either going to need to hold 4th atleast to 8k for enough trap speed or shift to 5th. Being a 15g turbo running past 7500 is probably going to be out of its efficienty range so shifting to 5th will be better but still hinder times.
A stock 9 won't go low 12's with just a tune and exhaust...it would need a boost controller for sure...also o2 housings are pretty much pointless on 8's and 9's...i've never seen whp gains from them and i've installed quite a few of them. And as far as shifting into 5th, why would you want to do that? I understand riding out 4th isn't in the turbo's efficiency range; however, shifting to 5th will be right as your crossing the 1/4 mile mark...why would you want to go over that mark on momentum rather then staying in 4th riding it out to 7-7400rpm? Anyway, can't wait to get back to the track..gonna crank the boost up next time!

overall the times look good, I am impressed with it for the most I figured it would be a little slower. Good run!

IX's dont run 12's stock. They run 13 flat (with a great driver), and 13.3 averaged. With trap times of 102-104. I have found two posts where someone claims to have run 12's stock, but no evidence. And without evidence, it didn't happen.

I'm still curious to what the 1/8 mile times and speeds were on these runs. Post them up please.

WTF are you talking about. I read the OP post and just miss the lil part that says "08 GSR SSS". I looked under his profile and it said EVO 8.

11s are easy with very few mods on the IX:

Put in 2 gallons of 100 octane to my existing 2 gallons of 92, boost was around 25psi tapering to 21psi.

mods: exhaust, mbc, boost gauge, 'johnbradley' flash, 100 octane

I love this car, 3300 miles on it so far

most 1/4 mile for the IX, i find is , 13.01- 13.05 sec. bone stock.
You can find rare times under 13 sec, but the most common is little over 13 sec.
Since i'm not a drag racer i have to go what i can find.
