From 06 STi to Evo X
Yea, I just personally don't like the hatch back look with no rear end on any car. I am sure some may. I am sure the STI is plenty quick though just couldn't stomach the look. Bummed me out too. Thanks for the tip on the sound, I will see, first I am going to get an exhaust since I need one and see how I like the sound..than make my next move
. We all miss our previous car because we are used to it, I don't see how anyone can be disappointed with the X after owning it for a while and the potential in the new engine is awesome.
It seems some tuners are doing quite well with tuning the new STi and tweaking AVCS on both the intake and exhaust cams: http://www.iwsti.com/forums/power-br...hp-354wtq.html (283whp/354wtq) with just a catless downpipe and a tune.
Tuners have had a head start with the STi since they already knew how to tune previous STis and it's pretty much the same engine; and they learned about CANBUS and all of the new things on the STi last year when the new Legacy came out.
I can only imagine what will happen when some engine management tools become available for the new Evo.
It will probably be hard to find someone to make an unequal length headed for the Evo, it's not a very efficient design and was a cost saving hack that Subaru did. The JDM Imprezas have actually had an equal length header (and a twin scroll turbo) for a few years now, but that never made it into the US market. A lot of aftermarket headers for the Impreza are an equal length design since they make more power than an unequal length design, at the cost of the "Subaru rumble."
