as Ive already said, it doesnt equate to the same. To get a base 300bhp X over here you are looking 55,989.6 USD. To get a base GTR you are looking 105,982 USD!!!! So can you all stop comparing it with your prices

That stuff about the pistons and rods needing to be upgraded if anything past 360 hp is desired is a bunch of nonsense. They're probably just trying to discourage peope from further modifying the engine in an attempt to reduce warranty claims. The internals are even stronger than the 4g63, and stock internals on that car can easily support 400 whp reliably. Corporate nonsense... I'd say that the stock internals can very easily support around 475-500 at the motor reliably, and that anything more than that would start to stress things. It could probably still take it, but for how long? That would be the question. 360 at the motor my ***, I'd like to smack that guy.

 

Prodrive are completely independent they just happen to do a lot of work for Subaru and Aston Martin. They also do a lot of work developing car chassis etc, including the X

 

I didnt say it was better I said you cant compare it with the US or Jap models pricewise. I also said that they chuck in a few carbon bits, leather and the main thing WARRANTY. Granted it doesnt equate to the price of the mods but what price can you put on 3 years piece of mind I suppose?

Ok this I can totally agree with. Although, I really do hope that dealers in the UK are more honest than the thieving bastards we have here. Almost every single mitsubishi based warrenty claim here, is met with resistence and/or outright denial of coverage.

The Team Dynamics and especially the Speedline Turini wheels on the earlier FQ's complimented the cars, these don't IMO. They look ricey and muck up an already busy front end.

The point you are still missing is that 75,000.00 USD is still only 37,630.11 lb. You guys don't get paid in USD, you get paid in lbs. Of course its a huge investment for a US purchaser at nearly 2/1 conversion rate. Not saying anyone can afford an fq, but its not like when you guys are pricing out cars in the UK you are looking at them in terms of USD. To put it into perspective, its essentially the same as if the car were $37,630.11 here. Sure it's not exactly the most affordable kid on the block but for the money, pretty competitive. Personally I believe if the fq were available here for only 37, most X owners would have opted for it.

Avoiding all conversations about a tanking economy here, all I can do is point to the strength of our dollar vs yours. That says it all.
