Not saying anyone can afford an fq, but its not like when you guys are pricing out cars in the UK you are looking at them in terms of USD. To put it into perspective, its essentially the same as if the car were $37,630.11 here. Sure it's not exactly the most affordable kid on the block but for the money, pretty competitive. Personally I believe if the fq were available here for only 37, most X owners would have opted for it.

Avoiding all conversations about a tanking economy here, all I can do is point to the strength of our dollar vs yours. That says it all.
All of that is completely irrevelevent because you are just converting the USD to GBP. You seem to be assuming that if you get paid say $15,000 for doing your job in the US then we will get paid close to £30000 for the same job over here. Thats far from the case, it would be closer to £20000 so when you look at it in relative real life terms its costing us a lot more because the cost of living is a lot higher and wages arent.

Whats minium wage over there? Our basic level of income for 37.5hr week equates to $11 per hour. Now try telling me that we dont get ripped off with cars. Exchange rates are completely irrevelent in terms or respective wealth. I cant see what your point is getting at in the slightest other than you assume we get paid double what you do because of the exchange rate

Minimum wage here is 5.85/hr or 2.93 lb/hr. I'm NOT saying you guys get paid double what you do, in fact I'm saying almost the opposite. On a scale wages are probably quite similar. **BUT**$75,000.00 is not $75,000.00 pounds. My reply was brought on by the comment made by someone in the UK suggesting $75,000.00 was expensive.

I realize that everything is more expensive out there. I'm not saying its not. What I am saying is this: the car is *NOT* 75,000 lb. It's 75,00.00 DOLLARS. Tell me I'm still wrong and please tell me how because that is all I am saying. I am not saying the car is cheap, I'm not making any statements about the economies of either country at this point. What I am saying, and this still stands: You guys buy things as they relate to your currency, the pound. Not ours. All comments about your inflated lb vs our inflated dollar are irrelevant with regards to the cost of the X fq 360. Americans are dropping their jaws over the $75,000.00, all I am trying to say to the one guy commenting on it being really expensive over there is this: its simply not 75,000.00 quid. its nearly half that in your currency. If it isn't approx 40K pound, please let me know the cost in your currency. Whether 40K in your currency is "expensive" is a whole other conversation as expensive is a relative term.

If you knew the price of a similarly equipped X in both USD and GBP, and the price of the FQ-360 in GBP, you could estimate what it would cost here in the US. It would be nowhere near $75000.

The math would go something like: (Prices from official US and UK Mitsubishi sites)
Evo X GS: 27499.00 British pounds = 54 995.2501 U.S. dollars
Evo X GSR: 29999.00 British pounds = 59 995.0001 U.S. dollars

US Evo X GSR+SSS: $35640
This seems roughly equivalent to the UK GS. They get bluetooth and audio controls, we get a better stereo and the FAST key. Both have HIDs and the big spoiler.

$35640 / 54995 =
0.648 : Ratio between GBP and USD for Evo X

UK Evo X FQ-360 GSR: 37999.00 British pounds = 75 994.2001 U.S. dollars

75994 * 0.648 = $49244.24

So if Mitsubishi shipped the FQ-360 GSR to the states, we could expect to pay roughly $50k for it. That seems reasonable to me for a factory tuner car. Sure you could probably do it yourself cheaper, but you're paying for the convenience and warranty.

Edit: The FQ-360 GS would be about $46k, in case anyone was wondering.

Thank you. Although you are basing your estimates on the actual cost of the cars (probably more accurate) wheras I am basing my conversions off of the price of the FQ in **US DOLLARS** according to an easily accesible online currency converter.

75,000.00 USD

=

37,599.12 GBP

If thats wrong, contact XE for not having their stuff together.
