Ya gotta work the sales guys. My dealership said absolutely no test drives. Within 15 minutes, I was trying to get sideways on the highway in an X.

I test drove it at Key Mitsu this past weekend. One of the salesmen there is a good friend of mine. Almost bought it, just needed a signature, but i realized i would probably be getting in over my head and walked out.

I was encouraged to take a test drive in an X at a dealership in Colorado, and did so. Excellent car. However, they said they would not let anyone test drive the MRs when they came in.

I guess I have to go to a different dealer, because I even talked to someone higher up and they said they never let anyone test drives evo's. I even said I was looking into buying one and trading in the Talon to see if that helped...

I think age is a big factor! The older you are the better foot you can stand on.

I was wearing a suit and had been drinking just a few hours earlier. Had no problem getting a test drive. Bought the car a few hours later.

I test drove the X. Much more civil and livable versus the IX and the clutch play is more forgiveable. However, the feel of the X just didn't feel right with my driving style, hence I'm still looking for the right car. Looking at used M3s now.
