I own Euro version EVO X RS, they do come with Brembo ABS. as per Owners manual , the RS is about 130 KG Lighter than the GSR manual. they do come with intercooler water spray which GSR don't have.

There's no market for a price in between.
That's Mitsubishi's own fault. The Ralliart was overweight and overpriced the minute they decided the twin-clutch transmission would be standard. If Mitsubishi had let the Ralliart come with a regular 5-speed, it would weigh less, it would cost less, they would sell more of them, and they'd have more room for an Evo RS in their lineup.

I thought the Ralliart was supposed to sell better than the Evo by virtue of costing less, but so far I've seen 5 Evolution X's in my county, and NO Ralliarts.

I think they appeared to sell horribly due to availability. Mitsubishi's pencil-neck marketing weenies said Americans don't want stripped-down, track-oriented cars, so they sent very few RS's over here. It's very easy to imagine them later saying "See, only this many sold this year!" and conveniently forget to mention that only this many were available. It happens with various segments of the car market every year.

The opposite has often been true with the SUV market. The marketing weenies use last year's numbers to predict sales, don't account for any other factors, and convince the company to push out a certain number of SUVs to the dealers. At the end of the model year dealers have gas-guzzling Dork Stupidity Vehicles left on the lot and have to sell them with huge discounts and other incentives to buyers that didn't really want them. But, the market analysts, or whatever the dummies call themselves, still count those vehicles in this year's sales, and use them to predict for next year.

So, is AYC made for gravel surfaces? I'm not impressed with it on tarmac.

I agree with the people saying they don't like how the AYC makes the car handle. I don't like when I'm on an autocross course and electronic stuff suddenly makes the car kick the tail out or scrub the front tires. I'd rather learn to drive without it, and be able to predict how the car will respond to my inputs.

If my AYC ever has a malfunction, that 180 lbs may get replaced with a torque-biasing limited slip, regardless of what class it puts me in.

Yeah a lot of pro drivers do NOT like how the AYC makes the car perform.

have you tried the 3 different ACD settings to see if one suits your application better than another?

the ACD also makes you car suddenly swap , which is rewritable , so it will makes that transition "smoother' i would call it instant. The car is tuned for regular drivers, so everyone can drive it without any unnecessary thrill that is why you have some delay. LOL

The AYC or the ACD works always the same way. There is no change there. You need to learn the way they work. And you can predict what they and when they will do react on your inputs.
Seems to me after all those " that is not a pure car , too much nanny's etc "
The X is not that easy to drive at the limit ...
easier to drive for a certain point /nanny's/ but over that you need just as much practice then any other evo before.

So you experienced yourself , what most yay sayers didnt yet. You going to have to learn the car at the limit too. The NAnny's wont bring you further without practice. After that when you will be familiar with the car, then you will really enjoy , the "not the driver " car even more.

Can you check your ABS Pump module what part number do you have on it?
I want to compare with mine, since mine seams that it's not working

cheers,

The EU RS version comes without AYC as it's intended as a group N FIA Rally car where AYC is not homologated.

i never heard an RS with ABS. it would defeat the purpose of it.
Some Eu guys could chip in , but would be interesting if the X RS has ABS.

The Evo X RS does NOT have ABS in any domestic market. We are a licencesed seller of the Evo X RS but unfortunately in this country it's for motorsport usage only.

I can't tell you the drama's and hurdles we had to overcome to get ABS working in the RS, but we finally did it, and I can say from personal experience is that none of the domestic markets who sell the RS have their model equipped with it, otherwise we would have had a suitable donor car.

The RS is sold in two variants. First is the gravel donor which has 16" wheels, slide arm calipers and no rear wing, the other is the Tarmac Version (we opted for that variant) as it has the alloy rear wing, enkei light spun 18" wheels and brembo all round.

There is a mechanical LSD in the rear, no ABS, no A/C and stereo, base ES lancer seats, black door handles, black mirrors, different manifold, basic trim on the doors and dash etc etc

There are so many differences it's not funny. I'll tell you another useless fact. The rear bar reo on an RS is 700 grams lighter than the reo found on the GSR. The smaller details on the differences between GSR and RS are finite.

The good news is that globally we were the first to get ABS working effectively on the Evo X RS. the bad news is that it's frightfully expensive and really only something you'd entertain on a competition motorsport styled car.
