We no longer need to wonder why the GSR has been given plenty of lead time on the MR. If they came out at the same time, all people would remember about either car was how "slow" the times for the MR were in some of the mags. I almost think they should give the MR a different model name and leave the GSR as the lone Evo.

3600lbs... just gotta get used to newer cars being heavier due to safety and now mandated luxuries like bluettoth, nav, quiet rides etc....

If anyone of you decided to check the numbers that the same magazine got with the GSR, then you wouldn't be saying the stuff you said. GSR had the same 5.2 s 0-60 time, slower from 0 to 100 mph (13.9 vs 13.8), it was slower in the 1/4 (actually both did 13.8, but GSR did it at 99.3 vs. 100mph), it had lower lateral grip (0.99 to 1.01), slower in passing 45-65 mph (2.8 vs. 2.6), slower figure 8 (25.1 vs. 24.7), lower lateral Gs during figure 8 (0.74 vs. 0.77), and it took longer to stop (111 vs. 104)!

You could check it here!!

Also, the truth is that those two tests where done at different times so it is not easy to compare two, but still those where the numbers they managed to pull!

Thanks for posting the article.

So the perfect X would be an MR with a 6sp manual. And a tune.
I'm on a 6M crusade now cuz I really want an X....

I'm waiting patiently for my MR on order....

but seriously, 5.2 or 5.0, let's compromise at 5.1, then count 1 mississippi less, and you are talking about 38k for a car that is BARELY noticable in speed to cars costing 100k or more in price. I'm would bet a fortune that within a year, there are mods bringing it to 4.3 - 4.5 sec.

I still really want a Evolution X MR. It seems like straight speed doesn't really matter anymore. Control and comfortable at a older age sounds better than feeling the road all day.

See the "Edmunds tests the PROCEDE Evo X" thread posted today. 4.6 is just about there, haha.

Ya that magizne is full of ****. I ran a 13.50 at 103mph stock on my GSR Evo X at 3700ft Above sea level. So with the sea level formula it come out to be a 13.26 in the 1/4 at sea level.

"On the skidpad, the Evo tilted the world back on its axis breaking the 1.0g barrier for lateral acceleration. It also flew through our figure-eight test in 24.7 seconds and pulled 0.77 g in the process. When stomping on the binders, the 3608-pound car went from 60 to 0 in a scant 104 feet."

I agree. Those guys drive like crap ...or the MR auto blows. I launched today and I am confident in a mid 13. I don't care what they say though, I will track mine and see what I run. I wish the clutch was better and more reliable though.
