FYI for those interested in the JDM Dead Pedal

Just thought I'd post a FYI on here. I picked up the JDM dead pedal for the X and it didn't fit. After some more in depth investigation thinking that the wrong part was sent to me, I guess apparently our dead pedal is different shape than the JDM X. So those of you who are planning to do this mod you will need to get a JDM dead pedal base. Then with probably some slight modification attach it to where the old USDM dead pedal use to sit then you can use the JDM dead pedal to have all matching pedals. Just thought I'd let everyone know who was planning to order this from japan parts or other sites.

Differences in the floor pan between right hand drive and left hand drive I would suspect.

Wait...the X doesnt have a dead pedal? Or is the JDM pedal just JDM tight and that is why you are putting it in?

The X has a dead pedal but I wanted it to look like the rest of the aluminum pedals so I got the JDM aluminum Dead pedal overlay. Which I found out is a different shape to the US one. Sorry if my first post was not clear.

Here's pics to clear things up. Its an overlay that goes on top of the existing dead pedal that comes with the car already, but as you can see the piece is no where near the size and shape as the USDM dead pedal. SUX!

JapanParts may have it listed wrong because their site says:

But a listing on eBay says you have the SST Dead Pedal;

Return that part inwards

http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/purchase/cataloglist/pdf/LANCER_Evolution_X_AC_0710.pdf

link is a PDF file, but Mitsubishi Japan indicates the Dead pedals are correct as per our site

Ebay "St. Paul" based seller supposedly sells the pedal base as well ( but doesn't guarantee fitment as per his listing description ), we'll look at supplying the pedal bases + see if it makes a difference

Best

RHD dead pedals are almost always different than LHD ones. I kinda doubt the JDM base will work in our LHD cars.
